Olympian 16838 is currently out on the 36, while 17026 operated one of the extra workings earlier. 16831 was on the 13, 16839 was on the 58 and 16838 itself was on the 52 until school time.

Also on the 13 today was 37-branded ALX300 22062 and Enviro300 24107. 37-branded 22063 is on the 36 (but will work its branded route later this evening from Park End to Middlesbrough on a short working). Meanwhile, both 24112 and 36-branded 24105 has been on the 59/61 today, with 24105 actually replacing its sister on there.

So from the Green bus fund round 4, now confirmed 38 Enviro40H for Manchester, 17 Scania K270UB/Alexander Dennis Enviro 300SG (Gas powered) for Sunderland, does this mean that the 20 other Scania K270UB listed in the latest BBP book are cancelled or are they being funded 100% by Stagecoach or alternatively changed to std Diesel spec?

They're not for England, make of that what you want. :P

Are we sure these E300SGs will be K270UB based? I would have thought they'd be K230UB...

Thanks for that 'cryptic' hint!
So can I assume still gas-powered but not for the land of St George?

Gas powered Scanias for Stagecoach - Southernsofty - 27/05/2013 17:15

Just speculating ....

"- Industrial gases company BOC, part of the Linde Group, has announced that it will provide the refuelling technology and fuel for Scotland's hydrogen bus fleet, with 10 vehicles to be operating in Aberdeen by 2014.

The project represents another stage in establishing hydrogen power as a viable transport option in the UK," said BOC.

“This will be the UK’s largest demonstration of hydrogen fuel cell buses and cements Aberdeen’s position as a pioneer in the field of low carbon mobility," said Nick Rolf, BOC Innovation Manager for Hydrogen Systems.

"The project will also provide a template for the production of hydrogen from renewable sources on a scale that is unmatched elsewhere in the UK.”

The hydrogen-powered buses will be operated on First and Stagecoach bus routes in the city by early 2014 and refuelled at Scotland’s first commercial-scale hydrogen refuelling station, which will be owned and operated by BOC".
