Don't see the point though - I saw the 1545 from LSV earlier carrying diddly-squat!

Hardly ever seen thew Maytree 597 carrying anybody as Nicholas says the extensions to Newton are pointlewss as they are irregular and carry not one person usually.

Suprised the whole of the extension isn't simply withdrawn as its doing nothing as I suspected it wouldn't.

The 600's on that section are also carrying half loads so how can the 597 expect to0 do anything?

RE: Maytree Travel - Bolton - Nicholas - 29/09/2012 14:31

Again, saw two Maytree buses at LSV about two hours ago, one going into LSV from Lowton and the other coming out of LSV to go to Lowton - again both carrying zilch.

Then again, how can it do anything as there has been zero publicity about the service!

Now, there's a thought. Would be a good idea if the organisations involved (Maytree, TfGM, Wigan Council etc) did do some publicity, perhaps some route branding like they did with the 9 in Salford when it started last year.

Also I think the route would put people off going half way around the Earth to reach Lowton, also aside from that I think its damahing the original service now as people don't any longer realise that the Sports Village is served, the loadings now on that section therefore have plumitted as well to next to nothing.

Really if any attempt was made to reachg Lowton by Maytree the 597 wasn't the way it should of instead registered short 34's via that route to Lowton instead and perhaps of extended it based on loadings if they where good to Earlestown, or alternayively registered the original 419 service up asgain as some LOwton residents miss that service as Warriungton is really there nearset big town but has no bus link and not served Landside at all.

Even though the display reads "Lowton via Sports Village"!
