It'll be interesting either way to see if Selwyns re-bid for this one with it being so far out of their usual area and because of the range of the Pantheons they have their own depot somewhere in the St Helens area.

Sorry the the late reply in all posts, as has been said the current contract is a 1 year extension only as the technobus is becoming un-reliable at times.
A bus was taken to Tesco on a trial with Merseytravel, Selwyns management but they wont be running as they not fast enough on link road.
New busses have been looked at, i heard Optare, not heard if Selwyns wil ree-tender the contract but think he will..Hope this helps

Working the final day of Liverpool Central rail replacements today were YN51KUV, KUW and KVA. KVA is the odd one out of these, lacking the "loveliverpoolcentral" adverts on both sides and retaining London adverts and notices internally. This, I imagine, was the swapped example. It was also my last one required for a ride, and I'd probably suggest it performs the best out of the batch. An excellent ride quality compared with KVD and KUV which are awful.

What's going to happen to these buses now then? Am I right in saying Abellio still own them, doubt they'll go back to London though.

RE: Selwyns Travel - CX06 EBK - 21/10/2012 23:18

From what I've seen some have already been sold, many of these buses are offered for sale as it stands though.

Yep Still owned by Abellio but as to where there gonna go is anyones guess.Possibly in storage by Frodsham Viaduct where they were when they first arrived. All i can say is Selwyns fitters will be over the moon as from tommorow not having towork on them anymore

the drivers wont be though as from what ive been told the drivers who operated it will be made redundant and never got told that there job was only temporary job.

But not difficult to work out as hired for driving on a time-specific contract?

There were 4 Tridents on Riverside Drive today, presumably on standby if anything was to go wrong.

Just to add, the buses lined up were YN51KUW/KVC/KVD/KVJ. A pleasant surprise seeing these resting on Riverside Drive.
