RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - MTL0201 - 03/04/2015 06:36 82-86 Arriva have had deckers for years on those routes, 471-472 given the Arriva hybrids on those routes, maybe Stagecoach introduce there own hybrids on the 471-472 RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - mbonwick - 03/04/2015 10:18 X2 will not be getting anything new this year (next year a possibility though depending on numbers I would think). It was only last year that the current Scania Enviro400s received a refurbishment and rebrand. 471/2 are close to the mark but no cigar. X8 seems the most likely, although the 1/2 (obviously there is the issue of the bridge at Bache though, but we're assuming Stagecoach Gold is double deckers when there are single deck routes as well) could be a total surprise......and I believe they are due new vehicles from postings on here. RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - wirralbus - 03/04/2015 11:09 Wonder whether the 38 is being looked at ? RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - Benzo - 03/04/2015 11:15 Spotted what looks like an Enviro300 24133 heading through Tintwistle towards Woodhead RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - stankevitch - 03/04/2015 12:24 (03/04/2015 10:38)gka472l Wrote: Hmmmm, well I don't think you're going to let it slip what it is yet.....but a Wirral route? Isnt the 1/2 still on a QBP with Merseytravel and Chester? If so I doubt that would get Gold status. The X8 has recently gotten its own route branding and could be a good contender for Gold, maybe some of the STagecoach own routes too, I'll have to have a think about it, but historically Gold has been used both for Express and also adding more passengers to a slow route... RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - PO59 MXJ - 03/04/2015 12:37 Couldnt see the 1/2 getting Gold as it would defeat the object of all the advertising for the X8. Stagecoach South have ADL Enviro300s in Gold so have single deckers are a possibity. My guess would be the X22 then as it fits the criteria of being a fast service in high car ownership area, isn't that the idea of GOLD? RE: Stagecoach Gold for MCSL - wirralbus - 03/04/2015 13:39 On the Wirral then that just leaves the 38 and 41/2 . The 38 has always been the poor relation on in the Rock Ferry stable . Stagecoach breathed life into the route by extending it to Heswall and the Croft Retail Park , something that first couldn't do or was unwilling to do. Maybe the X22 route would just need to be a bit more frequent , its one of those things if I was a car passenger waiting an hour would drive me back to the car , a service every 30 minutes would have me thinking. I know the route goes through a lot of countryside between Neston and Saughall but one has to speculate to accumulate. |
