From what I can gather the additional deckers are just for Schools and won't see any use on service work which is a shame as I'm sure now we're getting into the festive season that some duties on X50 could do with the odd decker on them.

Another thing is that for some reason I can't find any record of which deckers Diamond Northwest have actually got as oddly for some reason they've not been updated onto the Diamond Bus fleetlist on BusTimes, as a result I don't actually think these additional deckers are actually tracking when in service.

So far 23 single deck vehicles have been accounted for Tranche 3, 11 E200MMCs and 12 Stratas (6 new, 4 from Stagecoach & 2 from Nexus) are any more likely to be acquired? as I think none Schools have a PVR of 25.

Bus times was showing the first one running a 740 service today, which TfGM advertise as being a Belle Vue route. So that might explain why it's not showing as tracking on a Diamond route.

I notice the 279 will have a morning extension to Hale Barns St Ambrose and an afternoon journey will commence from there.

That'll actually mean an improvement for the schoolboys going from Altrincham Interchange to St Ambrose. Previously they have to get either the 08:15 X5 or 08:30 88. From next week it'll be the 08:15 288, 08:21 279 or 08:30 88.

Although, the afternoon 279 journey will be 55 minutes after the school finishes!

I can't imagine this was the best journey to use a Strata on - along the Oxford Road corridor in the evening peak!

Really isn't an issue. The 87 turns off Oxford Road at the MRI. It's not a busy service at any time of day.

Travelled on 20629 yesterday. Noticed it's only got 23 seats, as there's no fold down seats in the bays, or seats squeezed in above the front wheels. Means their short MMCs have around the same number of seats as their minibuses. However, obviously the MMCs have more space for standing (or luggage in the case of the airport service) if there's no wheelchairs or buggies.
