RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - St Helens Rider - 30/05/2016 07:36

The 0832 Lime Street - Wigan (and return) is cancelled this morning - is this a failure or is there another reason.

Northern Wrote:08:32 Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan North Western due 09:22
This train will be cancelled.
This is due to a member of train crew being unavailable.

The monotonous voice is starting to be replaced by an automated one which doesn't seem so bad, even when repeated after almost every stop

It is reported on another website that since the timetable change the 1723 2H02 from Piccadilly which ran to Chinley now terminates at Hazel Grove. Also this is now operated by the 323 which sits in P12 between peaks.
It must be many years since Hazel Grove had a timetabled emu.

Correct,it works the 0632 Man Piccadilly to Stoke, the 0759 Stoke to Man Piccadilly then sits at Piccadilly until the 1723 to Hazel Grove

Also one less 185 is used on the former TPE NW services, meaning the Airport to Cleethorpes service (which used to call at Chinley prior to Northern getting the ex-LM 150s and extending that Hazel Grove service to Chinley) is now 6 cars and calls at Chinley.

That Airport to Cleethorpes must be one of what is termed historical trains as there is im sure one TPX service that calls at Irlam and Hunts Cross , basically as additional peak flows .
