An Alstom built hydrogen train could be trialed on Liverpool-Runcorn-Chester route, which is set to be run by the next W&B franchise

Now thats interesting as i always through the Liverpool - Runcorn - Chester service would just be a merge with the Northern Liverpool - Warrington Bank Quay

RE: Arriva Trains Wales - knutstransport - 27/09/2017 17:54

Long term intention is for a direct Liverpool to North Wales service via the Halton curve.

Going off topic but i do wonder if there is such demand, i have recently starting going up to Bank Quay on the said service but just about everyone is off by Earlstown

The difference would be it will run via Liverpool South Parkway, thus connecting Liverpool, South Parkway, Runcorn and Chester/North Wales, so I think the loadings maybe slightly different.

Indeed. I'm not sure how anyone can argue loadings on an existing Liverpool to St Helens Junction to Warrington Bank Quay service will be similar to loadings on a future Liverpool to Runcorn (not Runcorn East) to Chester service.
