There are also less sets of traffic lights by going via Europa Boulevard, Price Street and Watson Street on to Tower Road.

Chirstmas Day Bus services timetables have been released.
They will operate on the following routes:
Current existing routes:
10A Liverpool - St Helens
44 Formby - Crossens
62A Crosby - Aintree Hospital
102 Broadgreen - Aintree Hospital
201 Speke - Royal Liverpool Hospital
410 New Brighton - Clatterbridge
Current Christmas day only routes:
H1 Mill Park - Arrowe Park - New Brighton
H2/H3 St Helens Hospital Circulars
12A Liverpool - Huyton
21A Liverpool - Tower Hill

It seems an increase from last year, one point that still annoys me is routes like the H1, H2 and H3 are previous routes that Merseytravel withdrawn, yet somehow are needed on Christmas Day but not the rest of the year? clearly the H2/H3 is the old 194/195 and H1 the old 118/119. unsure of the loadings on the 194/195, but the 118/119 was always busy, and now they are trying to bin its last remains (the 418) off, the mind boggles.

I can’t speak for the 21A but the 12A isn’t a new route, it’s a Christmas only service along with the H’s and had operated for over twenty years

Not seen H2/H3 for a year or two, but last time I saw any, they were empty - probably because no potential passengers knew they were running.

I've driven H3 (or 195X as it was) for the last 8 years - some people do get on it every year!

In St Helens, on Boxing Day, only Stagecoach 10A and Merseytravel/HTL 17 and 29. On New Years Day, only the 17 & 29, althiough to Merseytravel's credit, the last 17 is 20.18 from St Helens - quite possibly the latest time a service has run on these days in this area for quite a fair few years.

On Wirral only Stagecoach routes 1/X1, 41/42 & 471/472 are running, & no other services are running on Boxing Day, & no services st all on Wirral on New Year's Day other than the Stena shuttle, it's dreadful, previous years it's be a Sunday service, but with some routes like 38A not running.
