Does anyone know which decker has gone on fire on the X2 in Southport?

It's not quite as dramatic as it sounds. Apparently the front offside brakes were binding and ended up catching fire. The driver quickly put the fire out with the onboard fire-extinguisher. There is no body damage at all.

I had a similar situation a few years ago on the A1(M) with a Bova Futura. The o/s/r brakes got stuck on and smoke was billowing off the hub. Ended up on the hard shoulder with three fire engines in attendance and a lane one closure! Driving the coach off the motorway with no back brakes was, erm, interesting!

Thanks both. Here's the link if anyone's interested, but as you say, nothing too dramatic. If you heard some people in the depot talking, you'd think the bus had been destroyed!

numerous things can cause faults like this.

It wasn't the first bus and it won't be the last to have the brake binding problem, I remember years ago being in Harrogate Bus Station when one of Transdev Harrogate's 36 branded Geminis came in with the same problem, bus wasn't on fire but there was smoke coming from the back offside wheel and the only damage to that vehicle was what looked like a melted oddometer fitted to the back offside wheel

Stagecoach Fife's 1992 leyland olympians were notorious for this. They had to all be modified. In fact, this lead to the reason the first eight had J reg's, the other 17 K reg's. The latter were delayed for the fault to be fixed.
