RE: D&G Bus - CTL45 - 14/09/2018 14:17 D&G have registered an 82 service from 29 October according to the TC website. No start or end point is listed but given that Arriva's Northwich - Chester 82 ends around the same date I think its safe to assume its the same service. Interestingly there is no subsidy support. RE: D&G Bus - Turbostar19 - 16/09/2018 15:29 It will be interesting to see how D&G cope with the large flow of students to the college at Greenbank? I suspect that they may not. RE: D&G Bus - 33109 - 16/09/2018 22:09 What they need is a few double deckers to cope with the numbers of students. Unfortunately I've never known D&G operate deckers. RE: D&G Bus - T42 PVM - 17/09/2018 07:54 Could be wrong but i think they had one for a spell (X80 SLT?) RE: D&G Bus - 33109 - 17/09/2018 08:02 They might've done, it'd make sense to have some deckers as the 82 is always busy. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 17/09/2018 16:36 Someone's forwarded an email on to me from Transport Service Solutions (Cheshire East) confirming the 88/89/188 contract is let on the basis some journeys are operated using a vehicle with a minimum of 28 seats and others with a minimum of 35 seats. It seems D&G think a minimum of 35 means 33 seats normally and 28 if they are short of the usual vehicles. Although, knowing how poorly managed Cheshire East council are I'd be surprised if they take action against D&G for breach of contract. RE: D&G Bus - M60lad - 18/09/2018 05:44 Just to confirm T42PVM's and anybody elses's suspisions D&G did used to have a double decker and it was ex South Lancs East Lancs Volvo B7TL X80SLT, it carried fleet number 180 and was allocated to Crewe Depot during its stay at D&G. RE: D&G Bus - 33109 - 18/09/2018 09:23 They could really do with another, the 82 is a bloody busy route. It needs a cadet or possibly 1 of their commanders to cope with the passenger numbers. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 18/09/2018 11:26 82 registration confirmed, although interestingly the start point is Northwich Venables Road or Watling Street or Kingsmead. I would hazard a guess then that they won't do the 82A then and will just make the college run go from Watling Street and extend to the college (or reverse in the afternoon) Venables Road I would assume is mornings to save 2 minutes not navigating the 1 way system to get onto the Watling Street bus stop. I am guessing but they make sense. I don't know the start times for Mid Cheshire College or the schools near Greenbank but could they be trying to get them kids as well which the current 82A misses out by turning off at Hartford? |
