The 88 doesn't work as a standalone route using 4 buses. If Arriva keep it they either need diagrams which integrate the 88 with another route or they need to use a 5th bus and route alternate buses via the Airport and scrap the Altrincham-Airport part of the 18 route (which would free up a bus.)

Cheshire East specify a minimum level. Operators chose whether to provide the minimum level or not and whether to have diagrams incorporating multiple routes or not.
I thought TfGM were supposed to be enhancing and extending Airport bus services due to the new Amazon centre or are TfGM now expecting the 88 to carry everyone?
There's a lot of bus routes to the Airport where Metrolink is not a sensible alternative, including from Hale and Altrincham.

From looking at the cheshire east website today the 130 is changing from 30th oct.
Reduced to hourly but with a 30min frequency on the macc - wilmslow portion. Makes some sense as the daytime runs are fairly quiet except the peak hour duties.

I don't think it's been mentioned here. It's just that plenty of evening journeys at least on route 263 tend to be Pulsar, not necessarily Sapphire, in place of Sapphire Enviro300s. Most daytime journeys use the correct type but I do occasionally see Pulsar 130s on route 263.

Last Arriva 88 service from Knutsford last night was worked by an 07 reg Commander.

For reasons unknown the 61 plate Pulsar's are preferred on late boards on the 263. The sapphire Enviro300s were never to be seen after 8/9pm. However a few have done the last trip off Piccadilly Gardens as of late.
