RE: Avon Buses - E400 - 25/01/2015 10:47 Anybody know what the loadings are like for the 441, 442 and 473? I saw the 2000 from Liverpool at the Birkenhead tunnel tolls last night and the bus was fully seated- is this a normal occurrence? It's a shame there are only a few of each of these services in the early morning and late evening; if they ran a bit later in the morning and a bit earlier in the evening I think there would be a lot of people who would use them. I would certainly not be renewing my Arriva annual pass as the 442 would take me more or less straight to work from home and would save me a good half hour or more from changing buses between Whitechapel and Liverpool One. I know other people from Wirral make the same journey as me as I see a few of them everyday. It seems Avon is the only company to recognise that people have lives beyond the city centre. I understand they use these services as run-ins for Liverpool based services, but I think they're onto something. I saw a post on the Stagecoach Chester page about extending the X8 to Bootle. Again, this could really catch on, but I'd personally prefer to see somebody like Avon benefit over a big multinational corporation. RE: Avon Buses - N271CKB - 25/01/2015 21:06 There's an article on the Liverpool Echo website about the fare increase on the 202/4 RE: Avon Buses - Thomas17 - 27/01/2015 20:13 Just seen 821 being towed RE: Avon Buses - busdude - 05/02/2015 21:06 I've noticed that S54 NCW and W124 XMA have been fitted with flip dot displays RE: Avon Buses - M113 YKC - 06/02/2015 00:19 (05/02/2015 21:06)busdude Wrote: I've noticed that S54 NCW and W124 XMA have been fitted with flip dot displays154 (S54 NCW) has LEDs - seen it today on the 16s/17s. 840 (T840 CCK) is the Spryte that has flip-dots. I believe that the remaining buses with manual blinds (155, 255 and 355) will be fitted with electronic blinds soon. Also worth noting that 246 apparently caught fire on the M53 yesterday (05/02)! 127, 254 and 509 were all still running around too. RE: Avon Buses - busdude - 16/02/2015 19:08 Looks like Arrivas 407 will have a bit of competition in April with some of Avons 18 services being extended to liverpool RE: Avon Buses - T42 PVM - 17/02/2015 00:19 (16/02/2015 19:08)busdude Wrote: Looks like Arrivas 407 will have a bit of competition in April with some of Avons 18 services being extended to liverpool Should only be 2 Morning trips and 2 Afternoon trips as they will go onto the 122 i think EDIT: Spot the mistake... Bus number: 473 Run by: Avon Buses Going between: Barnston to Alder Hey Date service changes: 19 April 2015 What's changing? Evening buses will start from Netherton. New timetable available? Not yet. We'll upload it soon! RE: Avon Buses - N271CKB - 17/02/2015 00:30 It's 3 trips each way, which run onto the 135/235 RE: Avon Buses - T42 PVM - 17/02/2015 00:31 i thought they already run on the 441/442 unless these are getting chopped or am getting my services mixed up RE: Avon Buses - N271CKB - 17/02/2015 01:09 The 441/442 morning jouneys run into the 144/5, the evening 441 run off the 202. It's been noticed these services are picking up esp well with the unique cross city market |
