RE: Fifteen years since the sale of MTL to Arriva - Jack - 09/03/2016 20:00 Competition wise nothing has changed much if at all since 2006. RE: Fifteen years since the sale of MTL to Arriva - Metroline1511 - 04/06/2016 21:31 I've just had a thought of how Halton Transport's destiny could have been entirely different. Unlike the creation of Merseyside, the creation of the new Liverpool City Region will include Halton Borough. So, let's suppose that Merseyside had included Halton Borough in 1974. Halton Transport would have been absorbed into Merseyside PTE then MerseyBus. So, when MTL was eventually acquired by Arriva, might they have had to divest the Halton base as well as Gillmoss? We shall never know! Runcorn on a like for like basis and St Helens to keep LCR market share the same as before. Im sure there would have been no end of takers for the st Helens operation in the industry. RE: Fifteen years since the sale of MTL to Arriva - Metroline1511 - 08/10/2016 21:49 When I was in Liverpool last Saturday I rode Arriva buses from BT, RU & SK. It was interesting to reflect that these garages had at one stage been Drawlane North Western, ATL Crosville & MTL respectively! |
