No damage to either unit, just stuck in dead sections. Both had their pans up when they were on Allerton.

Don't believe everything you read! The line speed there is 30mph, so don't know why it's been suggested he was doing 50! I understand the train was travelling much slower than that.
I would estimate the unit stopped about a quarter of a mile from the debris.

Sorry SD but that is not sensational enough. And I would imagine that the 200 tons of rubbish has probably got one extra 0 on it.
