I would suggest Crewe will get most of the Winsford allocation and then to Macclesfield for those outstationed at Gaw End Lane.
However, you would miss out on those on Northwich locals

There's only 4 MPD's on Northwich Locals, So you wouldn't miss much! Otherwise GHA's 82 Chester - Northwich, See's some intresting Stock as well!. Photo wise though, It's not very good, And i would also suggest Crewe.

As at Saturday there were three Darts of the 8xx batch still at the Gaw End Lane outstation. However, only 868 (X218 JOF) is still in service - presumably pending the return of Solo 705 from Olympic/Paralymic duties.
The other two - 857 & 858 (T527/8 AOB) remain NFS in the corner of the yard, where they have been for the past couple of weeks.

I spent a great afternoon in East Cheshire today tracking down Olympians. I got rides on 3329 and 3360 on the 84, 3330 on the 38 and a couple of rides on 3334 on the 37. 3334 was really snatching gears on downshifts. Also saw 3331 by police Headquarters - not sure what route this was, and 7628, the Marshall Dart on the 37.

Both on shorts - there was a Gem on Chesters but I didn't catch which one.

one did a long, cant remember FN, got swapped for a cadet (2498) for my duty to chester

My driver friend had gemini 4490 on an 84 Long, and got it swapped due to low air, so mabey this is the one you saw!
Both 3334 & 3331 have gearbox problems, with 3334 snapping going inbetween, and 3331 over-reving, and making it cut-out at times!
7628 Suprisingly made it on to lates, I had it on the 1930 from Winsford Station, and the driver said he's keeping it on untill he finishs at 23.40!

Solo's 700 and 705 (the two which were at the Olympics) are now not being allocated to Winsford, 700 has already been sent to Wythenshawe with 705 awaiting re-allocation. Credit to creweblue on the Arriva North West & Wales Yahoo group for this information.

Credit to the same source as above, Solo 705 is awaiting an imminent transfer to St Helens. And the missing Olympian (3311) has now turned up at Winsford as a replacement for 3348 which is now out of service.
