Will this be like Manchester and be by depot or something different like by bus service?

Worth mentioning that the article appears to be from October 2023.

Given franchising is happening are what routes if any in the City Region are likely not to be included in the franchising?

I would say the most complicated one would be Southport's 375 and 385 because there is only a minimal section in the region and tge same in the TfGM one with the majority of it working through Lancashire.

Talk of the 1/X1 not being included otherwise i understand everything else will pass over to LCR, Includes the 360 which hardly gets into Merseyside, serving like 5 stops

What about the 347 from Chorley - Southport? Roughly 15% of the service is in Merseyside, the majority is in Lancashire.

If its going off current depots like Manchester has then i assume 375/385 will be included with Southport, but the 347 will continue as Stagecoach regardless as will the 2 and X2.

I did hear that there was plans to move the 1/X1 to Chester Depot so it wouldn't be part of the bus franchising, not sure if this is the case still or if Chester have the facilities for the extra buses

The depot at Waverton has some room but , the X1 and 1 do require a fair few more buses .

Maybe a case of something being withdrawn to allow the buses in up there .
