Been ages since I've rode a B10B, and nowadays they seem unusually truck-like with their big wheels and high floors (compared to Pulsars). Stagecoach 'beachball' moquette (still) fitted on chromerail bench seats. Max cap of 75 (51 seats 24 standees), and the grab-poles are now padded with black rubber insulation for school work. Best thing about these old Volvos is their meaty power delivery with instant power, none of this gear-hunting and hyper-revving from weedy 6.7 litre Pulsars. These Volvos sound loud and powerful, true heavyweight stuff with a 10-litre/10-tonne litre-per-weight ratio and I'm pretty certain 0712's got a ZF box rather than a Voith (judging by its noise). Usual savage B10B brakes and loud air blow-off from doors and brakes are the only criticisms. 10180kg unladen weight (20kg heavier than the MTL B10Bs) and 10ft 1inch height notice in the cab. Nice ride on this old Merseyside icon. Might ride it again on its way back from Manchester later on RE: Peoplesbus - Neoplan N4009 - 02/03/2013 19:56 ^ Exactly how buses should be , even riding on Southports B10B's on the 300 , much better with a ZF & powerful engine equipped , the Small litre engine & heavyweight bus mechanism to save less fuel is baffling to say the least. Though have to say for their age the Dennis Tridents are not bad at all RE: Peoplesbus - M113 YKC - 03/03/2013 13:14 (02/03/2013 11:53)mathias Wrote: Just been for a ride on 0712 (N659 EKD) B10B/Endurance on LED-equipped 'X5-THE TRAFFORD CENTRE'.It was a nice ride! The bus was well-presented and in a good condition for its age.
