CMT Buses - YN05 WKE - 21/06/2015 01:26

Before GTL took over CMT what routes where operated by CMT and especially what routes did the Wright Renowns used to do?

RE: CMT Buses - PO59 MXJ - 21/06/2015 12:34

Renowns i can remember operating the 284. CMT im pretty sure operated 10, 10A, 10B, 10E, 53, 79, 80, 82, 86, 102, 122, 130, 210, 341, 345 off the top of my head. Im not sure if they operated the Bootle - Aintree 135 at one point or whether that was ABC Travel.

Cut bought abc, so it is a possibility.

I'm pretty sure there was also a service 321 to Lydiate which was introduced alongside the delivery of the P reg Crusaders. Also, there was a 79A which was basically MTL's 79 to Wood Lane. CMT's 79 operated to Caldway Drive, as per the MTL/Village 79C.

Not 100% sure but i have some memory of them operating the 12/13 as well. Also didnt they operate the 100/200 Dingles just before GTL takeover. And the 101 Vauxhall Circular. Another one im unsure of is the 206 Crosby - Hightown, it was either CMT or ABC but cannot remember who exactly

Don't remember them doing 12/13 unless they done it in the early days.

Yes definately the 321. Was the 79A funded by Merseytravel? Did they ever operate anything over to the Wirral?

Renown 2050 was a regular on the 319 Southport-St.Helens.

IIRC, CMT operated Merseytravel tendered route 177 between Woodside and Heswall, other than that I'm not sure of anything else they may have operated over the water.

I'm not too sure behind the reasoning of CMT's 79A. I doubt it would have been tendered as it would have been in direct competition with commercial services. I think it was just to compete with the other operator's services to Wood Lane terminus. MTL also had a 79A at this time, which terminated at Lee Park. What a way to confuse passsengers!
