RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - childwallblues - 12/11/2017 19:22 The platforms have gone already haven't thet? RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - knutstransport - 12/11/2017 19:29 Yes officially an open station with no platform or trains. The main change will be who has control of the bus service, which probably won't be a good thing as it will allow it to be cut back to save money from 2019. RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - mikestone - 13/11/2017 13:02 The platforms are still there but inaccesible. RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - wirralbus - 13/11/2017 23:48 Bridge was removed when the trains where reworked in the WCRM phase many years ago now . Barlaston and Wedgewood closed at the same time as well. What was the name of the station north of Stoke that closed and had its platforms fully removed . RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - N271CKB - 14/11/2017 01:47 Etruria?? RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - mikestone - 14/11/2017 09:27 Yes. ; Etruria and Barlastone are in the same position as Norton Bridge was - not officially closed but with no trains. D&G 14 is the replacement service - the ITT for the new franchise requested applicants to look at serving one or both, but subsequent announcements do not seem to mention it. RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - wirralbus - 14/11/2017 14:07 Etruria doesnt exist im sure that has been through the formal closure process . Barlaston and Wedgewood have the platforms in situ , but very derelict . Wasnt Stone in the same position for a long while before LM decided to stop there . RE: Official closure of Norton Bridge station - mikestone - 14/11/2017 16:45 The ORR ratification notice posted at Crewe is slightly weird - it requires copies to be posted at assorted stations including Barlaston and Wedgwood, but rather strangely not Stoke! Stone wasn't served under the Central Trains franchise but a requirement for LM to serve it was included as part of the introduction of an hourly Crewe to Euston stopper. |
