Grand Central Railway - Metroline1511 - 14/04/2018 17:04 I couldn't find a thread on Grand Central so decided to create one. Anyway, according to the Railway Gazette, the first Grand Central class 180 has just been refurbished. I wonder how long it will be before they are all refurbished. I understand the Sutherland service has recently become operated by 180s, like the Bradford service is. http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/traction-rolling-stock/single-view/view/grand-central-unveils-refurbished-train.html RE: Grand Central Railway - 507022 - 09/09/2020 19:53 Regrettably, GC have abandoned the idea of the Blackpool to Euston service, presumably the COVID-19 has made it an unprofitable concern. Maybe it will recommence sometime in the future. Yes this is a pity. Having seen a few class 91 coaches and a loco near Crewe on the August Bank Holiday, I had started to look forward to riding it but never mind. RE: Grand Central Railway - wirralbus - 12/09/2020 15:48 After this pandemic is over , the railway will look a lot different , other open access operators will probably be looking closely at there operations especially if the operations have to be halted for a second time . |
