Then they'll have to put forward an affordable and attractive case to do so, just like every other operator who is losing contracts

Usually with tenders the big guns of the likes of Stagecoach and Arriva , leave it to the smaller operators to operate them.

I have found that Stagecoach and Arriva are operators of tenders as a last resort.

RE: Wirral Bus Network Review
So the 901 has finally bitten the dust to be replaced by a new service this and the 118/119 have been around for absolutely ages. I think that along with the 129 are the 3 longest (in terms of years operating) Merseytravel contracts on the Wirral if not in Merseyside

That's because the review is part of the Merseyside Bus Alliance, with Merseytravel working with all operators to make a so-called combined network.

RE: Wirral Bus Network Review
The 423 withdrawal is going to cause a few problems especially with the late night services, i know a few people who use the late night services towards Wallasey, don't think the 413 & 1A/1B/1C replacements will finish as late as the current 423 does, last 423 to Seacombe goes through Moreton around midnight, last 423 to Liscard is around 12.30am.

RE: Wirral Bus Network Review
Some of the proposed bus timetables have been released with the 124/125/492/495 interworking with each other, so atleast the Wallasey and Beechwood link is still maintained

RE: Wirral Bus Network Review
The 1A/1B/1C timetable is really confusing, would have been better to retain the 901 with 902 & still have the start/terminus at Leasowe Station

RE: Wirral Bus Network Review
As an outsider looking in on this one, it appears that generally through links have been cut in favour of short local circulars which in some cases don't even get to the centres of either Birkenhead or Wallasey.
