Training again today - it would appear they are using the 150 of the Crewe Shuttle and covering that with a 158, making me wonder if 158s are barred, or at least not cleared, between Frodsham and Halton Junctions.

This is the case from RTT.

This class 150 unit which was booked for driver training will get back on the Crewe shuttle service. The covering unit will attach with another unit to form the service to Holyhead (1D14).

I was booking on the trainline website, for example, an open return train ticket from Liverpool lime St to Chester on Tuesday 21st May 2019. The ticket will cost £7.80 if you travel on the Merseyrail. If you decided to travel on Transport for Wales Rail, then you have to pay £12.70.
