A second rake of Vans are due from Bridgend on Monday 08/07,they are for storage

at Manistry Wharf,will probably be their last trip,i would expect them to be scrapped

Colas Rail UK’s Freight Unit earlier this week introduced a new to rail flow of calcium carbonate slurry from Aberdeen to Spalding as part of an expanding partnership with OMYA UK.
The train’s schedule starts in Aberdeen and it will travel overnight, be unloaded in Spalding and the product transferred by Coopers Transport Services for the remaining 25 miles to Palm Paper Ltd in Kings Lynn.

For the 500-mile journey, Colas Rail UK will utilise its state of the art Class 70 locomotive, currently the most powerful and environmentally friendly of its kind in the UK.

Simon Metcalf, Head of Rail Freight Logistics commented “The new flow represents the partnership approach by Colas Rail UK and OMYA to identify safe, cost effective transportation solutions that also reduce CO2 and environmental impact.

The exacting performance, reliability and delivery of our existing rail-freight flows has provided our client with the confidence to expand their customer portfolio even in these current testing times and beyond”

At approximately 1030 this morning two Colas Rail class 70s passed through Wrenbury station
light engine heading towards Nantwich and Crewe. Ten minutes later two yellow class 37s passed through in the same direction, again light engine. Is there any way these locos can be identified?
The Colas locos movement is on RTT but does not identify them.

Can anyone help with this?

70811 and 70817 were showing en route to Canton on an early list and at Basford Hall on a later one.

Colas should be starting a new Cement flow this coming week into Weaste Lafarge in Salford from Oxwellmains in Scotland. Will be the first time a train has gone into there since 2016 and will be the first Colas operated train into there.
