Should imagine that once the strike is over (or enough drivers are available for GNW services), we shall see its introduction. Or possibly delayed until July. Service 17B will start next Monday (19 April), with the timetable showing on both Go North West and TfGM's website. Go North West making changes to the timetables for most of their services from Monday. Some services will see increases to service levels compared to the strike timetable but still less frequent than pre-pandemic.
https://www.gonorthwest.co.uk/go-north-west-timetables/ Meanwhile, Warrington's Own Buses are changing their timetables too from the 19th April, with the 19, 28 and 28A seeing a reduction to their weekday daytime timetables and service 5, 22A and 28A seeing some reductions to evening journeys. https://www.warringtonsownbuses.co.uk/ne...april-2021 |

Maybe worth checking as GNW may keep some to Stike Timetable. Until they are back working out of Queens road. |

Bit of disruption on service 471 due to roadworks has meant that Diamond are planning to split the route into two at Bury Interchange on a temporary basis on its Monday-Saturday daytime journeys. From 9 May, the service will run every 10 minutes between Bolton and Bury and every 12 minutes between Bury and Rochdale https://www.diamondbuses.com/news/keepin...roadworks/ |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Some details of Hulleys' extended X57 service between Sheffield and Manchester, which will run to/from Manchester Airport from this Sunday (16 May). The new timetable has timing points along Wilmslow Road through Fallowfield and with the route presumably running direct from Northenden via the M56 motorway to the airport, which suggests that Hulleys are looking to capture the student market along with the airport travellers for people from Glossop and South Yorkshire with direct buses to the universities and student accommodation areas. Apparently, there has been an issue with the timetable, with the original timetable showing the service running via the Trafford Centre. Travel South Yorkshire and Derbyshire County Council's websites now have it going direct to the airport, while bustimes.org still showing it going via Fallowfield and the Trafford Centre (presumably along the 150 route from Fallowfield to the airport, then M60/M56 to the airport). Not sure if this was an original plan that was abandoned or not. May well have been, given that buses will have a 75 minute waiting time at Manchester Airport. Do wonder whether people from Glossop and Sheffield would prefer to have a bus to the Trafford Centre rather than Manchester Airport at the moment. https://bustimes.org/services/x57-sheffi...2021-05-16 https://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/get...y-2021.pdf http://www.derbysbus.info/times/timetabl...5 2021.pdf |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
I look forward to travelling on this some day, hopefully this year. It does seem to be getting to be a very convoluted route. Surely the airport is well served by public transport and in any case numbers travelling will be very low on this. Unless MAG are offering bus operators some incentive to operate there, which would be the opposite of Heathrow, with the demise the free airport travel zone. My experience of using Manchester Airport buses, though infrequent but since 1997, is that very few airline passengers use the bus and its really only used by airport staff etc. |
