Sefton Council are planning to move forward to ban junk food adverts within council-owned spaces, I've read articles related to TfL's guidelines for adverts that do not allow foods high in fat, sugar, and salt to be advertised on their network, so should the council go ahead with this it will be interesting to see how this works compared to the way TfL does it. |

All the Labour Mayors facing re-election have got back in again. Labour have also gained a Mayor in the West Midlands (defeating Tory Andy Street) and in new areas East Midlands, York & North Yorkshire and the North East. Only the Tees Valley has retained a Tory Mayor, Ben Houchen. |

Switzerland are the winners of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, the artist being Nemo with their entry 'The Code' - The runners up being Baby Lasagna, representing Croatia with his entry 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim' - Nemo also becomes the first contestant identifying as non-binary to win the Eurovision Song Contest, Ireland's Bambie Thug (who also identifies as non-binary) placed 6th representing Ireland with their entry 'Doomsday Blue' Joost Klein, who was representing The Netherlands with his entry 'Europapa' was disqualified from the contest prior to the Grand Final following a backstage incident. Olly Alexander who represented the UK with his entry 'Dizzy' placed 18th out of 25th (scoring 46 points within the jury vote, and unsurprisingly, null in the public vote) |

Olly Alexander was "supposedly" the best we have ever sent! The song itself is great, the performance itself was really good but Olly's singing was quite bad. Olly is a good recording artist, as where recent previous contenders such as Blue, Bonnier Tyler and Engelbert Humperdink but they just can't sing live! We probably would of won with Sam Ryder if it hadn't been for the war in Ukraine. |
