The 17 St Helens to Widnes isn’t on the Metro list either as far as I can see, unless it’s been replaced by the 30

Seems like it, as it says to Widnes but the 30 when it ran only went as far as Sutton Manor, before it was withdrawn and replaced with an extended 17.

Was going to say wouldn’t it make sense to just keep it as the 17 if that’s the case, but then it would look more uniform as the 30 with all other St Helens ‘local’ services being numbered 2x or 3x

The 17 will be the 30.

It’s all part of the LCR’s proposal to simplify route numbers and the St Helens local series will form part of the 20/30 series of numbers with route exceptions such as the 89 being part of the 80/90 South Liverpool and the 10/10A forming the Eastern 00’s/10’s. I’d also imagine the plan is to prevent duplication of route numbers

Other simplifications include:
12 (23)
22 (322)
29 (289 E/S)
60 (24)
152 (37A)
153 (25)

I’m not really sure why some of the merseytravel contract numbers in the 100/200 series are staying whilst others are changing however!

There also appears to be an error in the Wirral services whereby route 437 is every 20 mins Monday to Friday but 15 minutes on Evenings and Sundays (instead of 10 mins midweek)

After looking at the lists more closely....the proposed St Helens to Liverpool Airport will be the X83, there's a 322 from Ashton to Warrington which seemingly would be mostly outside the METRO area but is noted as such (no idea what the routing would be though), the 61 from Runcorn to Liverpool is permit rather that METRO. Also, do all the listed Wirral routes have a current equivalent??? I'll list them below with the current equivalent. It should be noted that these seem to be only proposals at the moment.

405/406 - assumed to be the current 106/107
407 - as current, but only listed to go as far as Town Meadow, rather than West Kirby as now
408 - not sure there's a current equivalent???
409 - as now
410 - as now
411 - as now
413 - as now (no 423 listed)
414 - as now
416/417 - current 16/17
418 - as now
432/433 - as now
437 - as now
438 - current 38
441/442 - current 41/42
464 - as now
471/472 - as now
473 - current 73
474 - current 174
475 - current 175
480 - current 80
481 - current 181
482 - seemingly a new route, current 82 only serves West Kirby & Caldy
483/484 - related to the current 81??
487 - as now
491 - current 91??
492/495 - as now
811 - as now??
Moreton Locals - as now??

1/X1/22 all on permit rather than METRO.

Looking like the 423 is being replaced by hourly Sunday and evening 413/414’s. I do wonder if the 483/484 will be similar to Avons old 83/83A services but only between West Kirby and Arrowe Park. Maybe the both of them replace the section between Moreton and West Kirby from the 407? .
I’ve noticed there’s an evening and Sunday hourly service on both 492/495 as well

It’s the Warrington’s Own Buses 22 (or 620 in its former life)

Ashton - Haydock - Earlestown - Vulcan - Newton Le Willows - Winwick - Warrington

It was the 602 in it's former life. The 620 was St Helens - Ashton - Bolton.

Wirral ones seem intresting some routes that don't currently run Sundays's are now preposed Sundays

106/7 would make sence 405/6 will likely confuse passengers more as well

Do wonder if there going split the routes into several franchises or one company for all (eg run all from Laird St)
Also 38 going as 438 means the variations must be going as currently it's 38/38A and 38B

Wirral franchise just the one as far as I know......so all LS run. I believe Stagecoach is keeping Rock Ferry for the 1/X1, contracts and schools, and the paintshop.....
