RE: Lancashire County Council Service Changes
May's changes: Lancaster Services Service 83 Brookhouse – Caton – Morecambe From 4 May 2026 Lonsdale Buses will revise the route and timetable to additionally serve Asda at Lancaster Salt Ayre. The timetable will be revised to facilitate the route diversion, with the frequency reduced to approximately every 90 minutes. Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Services Service 46 Preston – Woodplumpton – Broughton – Goosnargh – Longridge From 31 May 2026, Lancashire County Council will revise the route, adjusting the service between Preston City Centre and Blackpool Road to operate via University of Lancashire and Brook Street, instead of Garstang Road. This follows customer requests to restore the direct link to the University. On Brook Street, only the bus stops adjacent to Blackpool Road will be served. There are no changes to the overall timetable and Vision Bus will continue to operate the service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 111 Moss Side – Leyland – Lostock Hall – Preston – Cadley – Tanterton From 31 May 2026 Stagecoach will revise the route and timetable, extending the service at both ends to additionally serve the new Centurian Village housing development, beyond Moss Side, and within Preston extending to Tanterton via University of Lancashire, Plungington Road, Cadley Causeway and Ingol. Service 112 Preston – Bamber Bridge – Clayton Brook – Leyland – Midge Hall From 31 May 2026 Lancashire County Council will revise the route and timetable, revising the service to operate through the new Centurian Village housing development at Midge Hall, serving Titan Way and Steer Street, instead of Reiver Way, between Comet Road and Roadtrain Avenue. There will be minor timing adjustments at Midge Hall to accommodate the diverted route. Service 125 Bolton – Horwich – Chorley – Bamber Bridge – Preston – Royal Preston Hospital From 31 May 2026 Stagecoach will revise the timetable, providing additional early morning and later evening Monday to Friday journeys serving Royal Preston Hospital. Service 125R Chorley – Adlington – Rivington circular From 3 May 2026 Lancashire County Council, utilising Bus Grant funding from HM Government, will reintroduce this seasonal service linking Chorley, Adlington and Rivington. The route in Adlington will be revised to serve Adlington Railway Station, where train connections can be made, in addition to Chorley Interchange. The service will operate every hour daytime Sundays and Bank Holidays from 3 May 2026 until 1 November 2026. |

June's changes: Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre services Resort Rider Service 1 Fleetwood – Cleveleys – Blackpool – St.Annes From 20 June 2026, Blackpool Transport will revise the route and timetable extending the service through to St.Annes. The service will operate in conjunction with new Service 2 between Fleetwood and Blackpool. Resort Rider Service 2 Fleetwood – Cala Gran – Cleveleys – Blackpool – Blackpool Zoo From 20 June 2026, Blackpool Transport will introduce this new seasonal service. Running in conjunction with Service 1, between Fleetwood and Blackpool, and additionally serving Cala Gran Holiday Park, continuing to Blackpool Zoo. This new service will operate daily daytime up to every hour. |

July's Changes: Lancaster Services Service L1 Lancaster Caton Road Park & Ride – City Centre – Royal Infirmary From 6 July 2026 Lancashire County Council will revise the timetable, adjusting the frequency to operate up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime. The times of the first and last buses will be unchanged and there will be no changes to the route. The adjustment of the timetable follows the cessation of the agreement with the NHS to provide the second vehicle required to enhance service frequency. The flat fares will also be revised as follows: Adult Day Return – from £2.00 to £2.50 Child Day Return – from £1.00 to £1.25 Weekly Ticket – from £8.00 to £10.00 Group Day Ticket – from £5.00 to £6.50 Service 85 Lancaster – Morecambe – Carnforth From 6 July 2026 Lonsdale Buses will revise the route and timetable, extending the service from Morecambe through to Lancaster, direct via Morecambe Road. In Carnforth, the service will be extended to additionally serve the Windermere Road Estate. The timetable will be revised to operate every two hours Monday to Saturday daytime. Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Services Service P1 Preston – Walton-le-Dale Park & Ride From 6 July 2026 Lancashire County Council will revise the flat fares as follows: Adult Day Return – from £2.00 to £2.50 Child Day Return – from £1.00 to £1.25 Weekly Ticket – from £8.00 to £10.00 Group Day Ticket – from £5.00 to £6.50 There are no changes to the route or timetable. Preston Bus Summer Holiday Revisions From 20 July 2026 Preston Bus will introduce revised running times on Services 6, 8, 16, 19/19A, 23 & 35 during the school summer holiday period. Service 115 Preston – Longton – Croston – Leyland – Buckshaw – Chorley From 29 June 2026 Lancashire County Council will revise the route in Moss Side to serve Dunkirk Lane instead of Slater Lane. This minor route adjustment will maintain bus service access to those bus stops on Dunkirk Lane following Stagecoach's recent route revision to their Service 111. |

August and September changes: Lancaster Services Service 55 Lancaster – Carnforth From 30 August 2026 Stagecoach will revise the timetable, adjusting AM and PM peak time journeys around school times. Service 555 Lancaster – Carnforth – Kendal – Windermere – Keswick From 19 September 2026 Stagecoach will revise the timetable, resuming normal service levels and removing the additional summer journeys. Lancaster Bus Station Departure Stand Changes From 1 September 2026, there will be several revisions to the bus service departures. No changes to individual service timetables, a reallocation of stands. Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Services Service 3 Cleveleys – Bispham – Blackpool – Mereside From 30 August 2026 Blackpool Transport will revise the route and timetable, adjusting the service in the Bispham area to no longer serve Faraday Way, which will be covered by Service 18. Service 4 Cleveleys Park – Cleveleys – Bispham – Blackpool – Mereside From 30 August 2026 Blackpool Transport will renumber the service from 3A and revise the route and timetable, adjusting the service between Norbreck and Cleveleys to operate via Fleetwood Road rather than Valeway, North Drive and Anchorsholme Lane East, which are largely covered by Service 3. The timetable will be adjusted to reflect the revised route. Service 18 Poulton – Bispham – Victoria Hospital – Mereside – South Shore - Blackpool From 30 August 2026 Blackpool Transport will revise the route and timetable, adjusting service between Victoria Hospital and South Park Drive to operate all journeys via North Park Drive and West Park Drive, rather than East Park Drive. The timetable will be adjusted to reflect the revised route. Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Services Service 6 Penwortham Kingsfold – Preston – Brookfield – Longridge From 31 August 2026 Preston Bus will revise the route and timetable, extending the service at both ends west to Penwortham and east to Longridge. The new section route between Kingsfold and Preston will operate via Middleforth Green and Lower Penwortham and extension beyond Red Scar will operate through to Longridge via Grimsargh. James Hall & Co Ltd will be served on certain journeys only. The regular service frequency will be unchanged continuing to operate the same frequent service across the whole of new extended route. Service 8 Preston – Moor Nook From 31 August 2026 Preston Bus will revise the timetable, introducing minor adjustments to improve service reliability. Service 16 Preston – Faringdon Park Service 23 Preston – Royal Preston Hospital – Fulwood Asda Service 35 Preston – Tanterton From 31 August 2026 Preston Bus will revise the timetables of these routes, introducing minor adjustments to restore timings following the end of the summer holidays. Service 19 Larches – Preston – Deepdale - Royal Preston Hospital From 31 August 2026 Preston Bus will revise the route and timetable, adjusting all Service 19/19A journeys to operate as Service 19 between Larches, Preston City Centre, Deepdale and Royal Preston Hospital, and no longer serving Lea. The regular service frequency will be unchanged continuing to operate the same frequent service across the new standardised route. Lea will continue to be served by their Services 31 & 48, as well as access on Blackpool Road to Stagecoach's Services 61 & 68. Service 59/59C Preston – Blackburn – Royal Blackburn Hospital – Accrington Service 61/61C Preston – Kirkham – Blackpool Service 68/68C Preston – Lytham St.Annes – Blackpool From 1 September 2026 Stagecoach will revise these timetables, adjusting AM peak time college journeys in line with changes to college start times. Service 111 Tanterton – Preston – Leyland – Moss Side – Centurian Village From 1 September 2026 Stagecoach will revise the timetable, introducing timing adjustments to maintain service reliability and revise the timing layover point in Moss Side. Service Hotline 152 Preston – Hoghton – Preston – Padiham – Burnley From 30 August 2026 Blackburn Bus Company will revise the timetable, revising departure times to accommodate the long-term Walton-le-Dale route diversion for the Environment Agency Flood Defence Works. West Lancs Services Service 37/37A/X37 St Helens – Rainford – Ormskirk – Halsall – Southport From 6 September 2026 Merseytravel Metro will introduce new Services 37/37A/X37 to replace Service 152. The new service will be enhanced to generally operate every hour Monday to Saturday daytime between St.Helens and Ormskirk, continuing every two hours between Ormskirk and Southport. Journeys operating via Barrow Nook and Bickerstaffe will be numbered Service 37A and journeys operating direct via A570 Rainford Road will be numbered Service 37. A further limited stop direct journey from Southport to St.Helens via Ormskirk will be numbered X37. Service 152 St Helens – Rainford – Ormskirk – Halsall – Southport From 6 September 2026 the service will be withdrawn and replaced by new service 37/37A/X37. Services 640/641 Wrightington Hospital – Standish – Wigan From 30 August 2026 Bee Network will revise the route and timetable, revising the route in Standish and introducing several timing adjustments to improve service reliability. Chorley Services Services 2/2A Chorley – Brinscall – Feniscowles – Blackburn From 30 August 2026 Blackburn Bus Company will revise the timetable, revising Monday to Saturday times to improve overall service reliability. There will no changes to the evening and Sunday journeys operated by Stagecoach on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Hyndburn Services Services 6/6A/7/7A Blackburn – Great Harwood – Accrington – Oswaldtwistle – Blackburn From 30 August 2026 Blackburn Bus Company will revise the timetable, revising times to improve overall service reliability. Ribble Valley, Burnley and Pendle Services Service 22 Clitheroe – Whalley – Blackburn – Shadsworth – Royal Blackburn Hospital From 30 August 2026 Blackburn Bus Company will revise the timetable, introducing minor adjustments to improve service reliability. Service M6 Burnley – Nelson – Colne – Skipton From 30 August 2026 Burnley Bus Company will revise the timetable, removing the 0750 Monday to Friday journey between Colne and Skipton to be replaced by new college Service C1. Rossendale Services Services 464 Accrington – Haslingden – Rawtenstall – Bacup – Rochdale From 30 August 2026 Blackburn Bus Company will revise the timetable, revising Monday to Saturday times to improve overall service reliability. |
