20 brand new Enviro200's diverted to the area over the next few weeks, 6 for Chester and 14 for Rock Ferry, Christmas gets in the way of the full batch being delivered though. All of the Dart's transferred from Stagecoach Western to Manchester are expected to be moving to either Chester or Rock Ferry. B7RLE Wright Eclipse's 21236 and 21237 (66877 MX05 CKK and 66878 MX05 CKL) are expected to transfer to Chester from Wigan.
As yet I don't know what any of these will be replacing, I'd have thought the 2 Pointer Dart's and the Marshall Dart's would go, along with some Scania's, but we'll see nearer the time.

Except it isnt an L reg vehicle, its N reg!

Seems to be a few buses still in use missing off that list, i think its just a case of wait and see.

I am no longer active on this forum.

RE: First Chester & Wirral
Are Enviro200/Darts smaller than the buses they will (eventually) replace?

Stagecoach must surely be bringing new(er) double deckers to the Wirral, unless they intend to stop running the school services.

RE: First Chester & Wirral
I would imagine the Enviro200s will replace some Scanias and the darts, so yes they will be slightly smaller. I suspect however that ridership currently doesn't justify full size single decks anyway.

Why would Stagecoach need to bring in newer deckers to continue running the school services? the S regs are good for another year and I imagine the other 2 are just spares.

Afraid I can't comment much on that, not being familiar with the First fleet, but I believe there's some Scania's that haven't been withdrawn yet but should be before the takeover, so aren't numbered in the Stagecoach scheme.

Have you ever been on the 1/2/41/42 !? Generally every seat is taken, although standing room is available. Less seats = more people having to stand = bus services less attractive.

I was on the Arriva 2 earlier and from Little Sutton to Hope Farm (via Ellesmere Port), the bus was full and standing, and this was only around 12:30pm.

If a Dart appears on the 1, there will be carnage, especially nearer Christmas/School Holidays at Cheshire Oaks.

RE: First Chester & Wirral
likely 36 or 38 seaters replacing mainly 40 seaters, but you're right First Class- they need more seats rather than less. Last saturday I did notice some First workings on the 1 running into Birkenhead Bus Station in pairs. Not sure if this was planned dupes or just a messed up schedule.

Gilesbus1

Fair comment, I had forgotten about the B7TLs being "loaned" from West Yorkshire.

I think any new double-decks from Stagecoach would be E40Ds rather than Scanias as they generally use E40Ds in more urban areas. This despite First having many Scanias (albeit single decks) in the area!

RE: First Chester & Wirral
At this point, even though First may have originally intended sending newer deckers, they won't now -that's for sure. But the Geminis may well just migrate onto schools services and replace the Chester Olympians over the next year or so.

They would make great open-toppers for the city sightseeing although with them being so new, I doubt that would happen.
