RE: The Weather
The Weather is starting to take a toll .

There has today been an avalanche in Glencoe which has left 4 people dead .

Also ... Tomorrow the South East of England is expected to see some more snow , the weather experts are predicting that there will be between 2 and 6cm's of snow down there ,probably resulting in ever more chaos at Heathrow Airport.

RE: The Weather
If you watched the National Weather Bulletin after the news on BBC Television , there is a small possibility of some light snow tomorrow afternoon in the Cheshire Gap , but the main line of bad weather will run up from Kent towards East Anglia , Lincolnshire , Humberside , North Yorkshire , Tyne and Wear and the Lothian coast.

RE: The Weather
A lot better out on the roads last night - as far as I know all routes ran normally, those I were on largely had completely clear roads (not even wet!) with just an odd one with a little slush on it!

Just had a look at the forecast for Liverpool and the worst I think we are going to get today and tomorrow is a bit of sleet that almost helps to wash the snow away - temps between +1C and -1C but a bit warmer in the daytime during the week ahead!

RE: The Weather
I believe your 196s are diverted today due to ice, Steve!

RE: The Weather
Very minor diversion tonight, just Molyneux Drive being missed out so I assume taking Saunders Avenue in both directions (usually you go inbound along Molyneux Drive, outbound Saunders Avenue) - I was icy there last night but passable - very slowly.

Only other bits of ice on the 196 are (or last night!) were on Springfield Road and Penrith Road but again taken with caution, not too bad! Ended up running a little late but nothing major at all!

A lot better than the previous night anyway, we were told not to go into the Prescot estates at all and miss parts of Grange Park off altogether!

RE: The Weather
Yes, the Grange Park section can be awful and the Prescot estates can be tight enough without ice! I assume diverting straight down Scholes Lane to miss out Grange Park?

RE: The Weather
It seems that the sleety weather we had this afternoon we have had over here (Wirral) seems to have removed the last vestiges of snow off our roads this includes the majority of side roads .

Considering the dire warnings we recieved on Friday , I reckon we have had a close escape with this weather.
