RE: First Transpennine Express
Amazingly the Bank Holiday Weekends excuse gets trotted out by Network Rail as the quietest time on the railway. I had read that there is going to be a cross over installed to allow down (Glasgow) trains to access Platform 4 and 5 at Lancaster , at present if there is disruption trains have to queue to gain access to Platform 3 as that is the only platform accessible to down (Glasgoew)trains . Whereas Up (London) Trains can be routed into all platforms , its a strange set up there . |

RE: First Transpennine Express
The seven Class 185 units released replaced by Class 350/4 are due to start the new Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle via Manchester Victoria service from May 2014. As part of the changes the Mancester Airport to Newxcastle service is to be cut back to York. Some Class 170 workings on Cleethorpes and Hull services are to become Class 185 worked, whilst pairs of 170s are to take over some of the heaviest 185 workings. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |

RE: First Transpennine Express
How many of the Transpennine depots actually have staff passed out for the Class 170's considering that the majority of services are operated by the Class 185's. |

Sheffield, Cleethorpes, hull & man picc drivers & conductors plus airport conductors sign 170s & drivers & conductors transferring to new Liverpool depot from other tpe depots will still sign 170s for cross cover |
