JPT Bus Company
Interesting times with JPT Bus Company and First Manchester having a fare war between each other, JPT have now slashed their Day Ticket to £2.50 and Weekly Ticket to £10 on all of their services until the 10th June, whereas First Manchester's Day Ticket on services 17/18 is £2.50 with their weekly ticket only £9.00 with their promotion lasting until the 1st of July.

RE: JPT Bus Company
JPT have said that they 'have something up their sleeve' in response to First's second price drop on the 17/18 route (and 163 between Langley and Manchester). No doubt something will be revealed soon.

Definitely a tit-for-tat battle between JPT and First with the £2.50 day ticket on the 17/18 route and the 81/88/89 route between Moston and Manchester.

I imagine it'll tie in with the news about a second depot outside Middleton that was announced earlier in the year. Certainly have given First a run for their money on the 17 route, wonder what will be up their sleeve next

According to Middleton Guardian, it'll be at the old Brookside Mill on Lodge Street, close to Middleton town centre.

RE: JPT Bus Company
Incident at Middleton bus station yesterday involving a JPT bus.

The bus had stopped at the bus station en-route from Manchester to Rochdale when the driver had got off to get a drink but was reported that he forgot to put the handbrake on and then roll off and hit a barrier.

Three passengers were on board but not hurt. TfGM are not happy with the news and are now 'seeking answers from the operator.'

JPT have not commented yet, which might explain why it was a bit quiet on their Facebook page yesterday when they had planned to unveil their latest ticket offer yesterday.

Unfortunately this would be a VOSA magnet, even if it just to ensure that procedures are up to scratch.

Applying the handbrake when leaving the cab is pretty basic stuff!! Now had it been First, they would have been bragging about it on their 'fan page'.
