Well we can only hope Spring starts after this cold snap and hopefully we get a decent summer. We are now dropping into our first Heatwave warnings of the Summer . There is an orange warning for Yorkshire and Humberside East Midlands , East Of England , London , South East England and South West England are all yellow warnings . I couldn't care less what colour warnings we have, whether they be pink, blue, purple or red. HELL, JUST GET OUT AND ENJOY IT! One thing's for certain, this being England, it won't last much longer! In fact, all I want's a friendly pub with a beer garden and four pints of ice cool Guinness. NICE! SHINE ON!! Cheers! |

RE: The Weather
In hotter countries you see less and less people sitting out in the sun , they actually do the opposite of us and that is go in doors when the sun is at its highest for a siesta . For some of the vulnerable in society hot weather is as bad as cold weather . Though it looks like its cooling down slightly up here in the first part of the week. |

This time the Thunderstorm's have come with some mighty feriocous rain . Over here we have had two seperate thunderstorms but still feels warm enough for another one . |

RE: The Weather
I think in the next couple of days we might be talking about the weather a little bit more , its seems like Southern England are going to be battered with winds and Northern england with heavy rain with the potential for flooding |

RE: The Weather
Other than the windy interludes in December and January which came with incessant heavy rain for some areas this winter , there has not been any real winter weather to note . When you look at the pressure charts one of the causes is a stuck high pressure in the atlantic west of Portugal forcing all the atlantic weather systems around the top of it , couple by the extreme polar vortex that happened in North America with its big hot / cold contrast that causes the atlantic depressions to form and slingshot themselves across the atlantic. This year the Siberian High has really not been seen at all , which is normally the cause of all Easterly winds. |

RE: The Weather
I do feel that after the last few cold winters (remembering that well below average temperatures lasted until the end of May 2013), we were due a milder winter this year. Looking at the temperatures, looks like tomorrow will be the coldest day so far of Winter 2013/14. |

RE: The Weather
Another thing that comes into the equation now is that the ground is not very cold as there has really only been a couple of days of air frost , maybe a few more ground frosts which have been what the gritters have been called out for this year. The days are getting longer dont forget as well , sunrise is now at 08.02 and sunset is at 16.49 and is getting longer by the day , by Tuesday next week sunrise is at 07.52 and sunset will be at 17.01 . |

RE: The Weather
Today could just be the day that breaks the camels back weather wise . This according to the Met-Office could be the stormiest day of the year so far and we have had a fair few storms already this year. We could see Worcester flooded by a record surge later on today. There is just that much weather hitting the catchments at the moment that the rivers downstream just can not now cope and because of that the rivers are just widening on there way out to sea . |
