The Bamfurlong Curve is being upgraded for passenger trains. The plan obviously is to use the curve as part of diversions when the line between Huyton and Newton-le-Willows is not available.

The line is now energised between Castlefields Junction (Manchester) and Lowton Junction(Newton-le-Willows).
Mast bases are in place between Garswood and Bryn.

There are still a few gaps in the wires over the Moss, not sure how much of it is actually live although the switch on was supposed to be on Aug 4th.

Between Astley and Ordsall Lane, all infrastructure in place just a few small gaps where the wires aren't quite fully knitted together. Can't be long though before we see a test train along there?

There is also a gap from Astley towards Newton le Willows.

There are masts being put up in prescot as there are some already up with more awaiting to be put up.

They are already up around Eccleston Park, noticeable from Portico Lane when driving past!
