I miss those B9s. They were lovely, comfortable and far better for the nearly hour and half journey that they were used for. I couldn't be on an Enviro400 all the way to Manchester. Also, the Enviro400 sounds rather like a hair dryer, and that gets annoying after a while.

I imagine that ^ would be more appreciated in the First Manchester thread

there is a standed fault with the B9s that is that the cooling fans can break and then the bus sounds really loud

Isn't that fault quite common on the older Enviro400s as well though? There is a couple of the older ones at AZ at at the moment with extremely loud cooking fans that get louder when the bus accelerates.

Yes I've noticed that with the older Enviro400's. They sound awful when they get like that, but they never seem to get fixed for some reason, just allowed to carry on like that. A good few of the 56/07 reg's are really loud these days.

Waiting at the top of St Albans Avenue 19101 (I think) - heard it when it was at Broadoak roundabout, like a faint plane taking off and then climbing that hill up onto Lees Road.... And when it finally passed me I nearly went deaf! B9s always sound good though, especially when loud.

If you have drove a b9 or the ADL you will know one is quality and one is an ADL!

Im Guessing it was on the 231? It seems to be on the 231 most days as it actually woke me up one morning this week it was so loud. God knows what its like on board downstairs.
I just don't understand why they leave it so long before they repair them.

Actually it was on school duties but it has woke me up a few times going down sunny side road in droylsden... and as for sitting downstairs... I am a heavy metal listener and full volume doesn't shut it out when upstairs!
