RE: First Manchester
The Olympians are excellent, but as said earlier not if you are old, disabled or have a young kid.

Lots of B7RLE's on the 17 and saw one on the 163 also.

First have also put up a comparison of prices of weekly tickets between themselves and the Metrolink between Rochdale/Oldham and Manchester, in a probable attempt to coax some people back onto the bus from the tram.

Two Olympians out on the 58, both arriving at Oldham bus station at the same time in opposite directions. Another B9TL operating on the 184 to Huddersfield (1620 from Piccadilly).

Meanwhile, First will be introducing cheaper single fares on the 346 from Sunday. Interesting to see if Stagecoach response.

I understand the 'special' low fares for route that compete with the tram or Stagecoach but what's special about the 582 to get lower fares? Is there a competitor on the route?

But yes Pioneer really does need some new investment.

The Arrow is on the 346 most weekday daytimes.
The Olympians tend to be on 331/333's or 38/39's which are all well patronised by OAP's!

Possibly scared that stagecoach in wigan may go on that route! Stagecoach in wigan are recruiting quite a few drivers at the moment!

40361/4 also still in service as well. 40382 has been withdrawn.
Seen a Marshall dart on the 387 bound for Hyde this evening, don't know which one though

thanks for update on the dart

I assume 40416 Is still pushing itself to the limit for its elderly age. Marshall 41781 was on pioneer routes this week, think that one is an OM Marshall

RE: First Manchester
After it disappearing and thinking its been withdrawn imagine my surprise when I set off out this morning to see 40416 about to cross Foxdenton Lane in Chadderton towards Middleton on 415 so it still lives on and refuses to die

RE: First Manchester
Yes 40406 has still got its Pioneer blinds fitted as I've seen it recently as I just live just off 415 route, not to sure how long its going to be on loan to Oldham Depot for as really there's no replacements due or nothing new for 415s for the foreseeable future, it would be nice for the 415 to get some new reliable vehicles but as I don't think its one of Oldham Depot's highest money making routes I don't think that this will happen anytime soon, mind you the Darts and Solos can't run for ever so it would be interesting to see what Oldham do get to replace them and when.
