RE: High Peak
One of High Peak's recently delivered Solo SRs was out on Macclesfield locals today in the shape of 279 - YD63 VDC Also about was another, albeit older Optare Solo that I haven't noticed before 334 - TIL 4051. Not sure if this is just X234 MBJ re-registered or a different vehicle using the same fleet number. HTIOI Nick |

RE: High Peak
X234 MBJ is no longer on the DVLA database and TIL 4051 was new in 02/2001 if that is any help. Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

RE: High Peak
Gotta say having heard it from one of the drivers, X232 MBJ (332) has been reported to be one of the worst apparently not very reliable. Also couple of questions if anybody could help with much appreciated: Are high peak getting more of the 63 plate solos to replace older models, or will the oldish solos be kept? Also why don't high peak fit all their buses with full round LED displays, some of em have only a front display & others have front/side but no rear. Just seems a bit odd really? |

Bowers never seemed keen on using the side/rear displays/blinds and it's just stayed that way. |

RE: High Peak
Fair enuf then just seemed odd, anyone care to compare the new builds of solos. This is mine having ridden the arriva 12 plate & the 63 plate high peak examples: Arriva Solos - Nice roomy buses, light & airy interiors very nippy however noted by a few drivers that there's a few faults. I.E. they have a wider turning circle than the darts had so now they're banned from king edward street in macc as can't make the turn by the library. High Peak Solos - Nothing bad to say about these really, brill solos! Very airy & plenty of room inside, really warm powerful heating, very quick off the mark & seem like a slightly improved version by optare on the 12 plate builds. |

RE: High Peak
I noticed one of the new Solo SRs on route 392 just over a week ago. Is this their regular haunt or do they work any Solo route really? On Wednesday I noticed a Versa reg YD63UZN being trialled on route 199. It had a largely blue and silvery livery. I wonder whether, if successful, route 199 will be upgraded to new Versas later this year? The Solars could then replace Darts, unless the routes concerned have any physical constraints. |

RE: High Peak
The new Solo SR's (not sure how many they've got) I think turn up on any Solo route, at first I thought that they were bought primarily for 392 but the other week I went looking for them and didn't find any on 392 but did find one operating on 39 Macclesfield-Congleton service |
