RE: The Weather
It has also snowed here in St Helens. According to the BBC Weather App - Heavy Rain is predicted overnight with a minimum temperature of plus 1, so hopefully this may reduce the risk of all the rain/snow freezing. Hoping most of the dampness goes as the temperature over the next few nights is set to plummet.

RE: The Weather
Remember the winter of 2009/10 that was cold and nasty and resulted in buses coming off the roads for a short while .

RE: The Weather
Temperatures of -10 on Christmas Day - shocking! Luckily - early part of next week - it should be less cold from about Tuesday.

RE: The Weather
I'd have been very grateful if the snow hadn't come down this evening... Resulted in me paying £15 more than I should have done for a taxi driver as the driver refused to go on any road other than main roads through St Helens town centre and took the whole trip at no more than 20mph. I'm all for driving safely and using clearer roads but there were perfectly viable routes he could have taken off of main roads which wouldn't have increased my fare three fold!

RE: The Weather
That is the taxi driver taking advantage of the situation to rip you off, disgrace. I wish the snow would get lost as I'm down in Norfolk and snow is covering a lot of my route back. Hope it's gone by the time I set off tomorrow.

RE: The Weather
It's not surprising as last winter was a milder and wetter winter as opposed to the cold patch we are presently experiencing.
