Jeremy Clarkson
RE: Jeremy Clarkson
I do wonder what the BBC will do here .

On one of the satellite channels I have just seen there India 2hr special and to be honest it was very good viewing , you know what your getting when you put Clarkson , Hammond and may in front of the cameras.

That's very true. Clarkson is toast, thankfully.

If the outcome is that Jeremy Clarkson is fired then I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Richard Hammond and James May leave the programme as well. I think this has been strongly suggested by the fact that Hammond and May refused to film the studio scenes of the final three episodes in Clarkson's absence

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
Over 1,000,000 people have now signed the 'Reinstate Jeremy Clarkson' petition, the second-highest number in the history of Change.org. I think it's safe to say that if Clarkson is sacked by the BBC, the popularity of Top Gear, were it to continue in his absence, would sink like a stone. The enduring popularity of Top Gear and by extension Jeremy Clarkson is obvious by the measly audience figures it managed for that substitute documentary last Sunday.

If the worst does happen and ITV secure his services (and hopefully those of May and Hammond as well), the viewers will flock across the divide. As a fan of the Clarkson, May and Hammond camaraderie, I know I will.

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
I agree entirely 507009. I don't think the current Top Gear would be able to continue without the current set up - it's what makes Top Gear what it is and no other three presenters could replicate the friendship that Jeremy, Richard and James have which makes Top Gear so good to watch

I certainly wouldn't watch Top Gear again without the current trio presenting it. Top Gear is a very high earner for the BBC and if the worst should happen then it would only benefit another broadcaster if Clarkson, Hammond and May are recruited for a new motoring show

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
With the news that the BBC will not be renewing Clarksons contract I think it is safe to say Top Gear will never quite reach the levels of popularity it has done before, I know certainly I won't be watching it any longer as one of the major aspects of it for me was the relationship the 3 presenters had. There is also speculation that the contracts of James May and Richard Hammond are up at the end of the month and that they might follow Clarkson as a result.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
I hope they do follow and a new show in a similar format is set up elsewhere in time, it's the end of Top Gear whether they continue with it or not.

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
I definitely won't be watching Top Gear again either. At the very least the remaining three episodes of Season 22 should be completed rather than it come to an abrupt end - after all there's only the studio scenes left to film to finish the three episodes. It's a real shame - the end of an era

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
It maybe that Top Gear ends up on the top shelf of the attic with the news of Jeremy Clarkson not getting his contract renewed , to be honest though most big companies have these sort of bullying and harrassment policies.

Let the furore die down and i bet Sky will have him contracted up to do something , probably with his cohorts from Top Gear as well in tow.

RE: Jeremy Clarkson
I will also definitely not be watching Top Gear again. I'm not condoning his actions in any way on this one, but it hasn't been handled well. To me, there is now absolutely nothing worth watching on BBC TV. Let's hope James May and Richard Hammond join Clarkson in setting up a new show with a similar format on another broadcaster, ideally ITV where much of the programming is superior anyway.
