That one was horrid the last time i had it, really slow, banging into Gear and Fanbelt was scratching real bad, Really is in need of a little TLC before going back on the road.

these buses have had a hard life and are pretty much on there last legs, and not worth spending any major money on with under 6 months left on the road, what will Southport get to replace these

Both types are based on Volvos so could be the same engine type,a natural replacement would be commanders if any become available for transfer from elsewhere

Not the engines but 2701/2/19/20 have Voith gearboxes whereas 2722-4/6-8 have ZF which is why the former sound and drive like Endurances.

RE: Arriva North West - Southport Depot
These Renowns aren't actually that bad to drive. The pick of the bunch at Southport is, in my opinion, 2726 as it drives really smoothly and has good, strong, progressive brakes. 2701 isn't a bad motor either.

I'd imagine that they will start to be replaced within the next six months or so, given that the 'X'-reg Darts have been steadily depleted over the past few months. Mind you, I suppose that it depends on the book value of the Renowns - they might last a little longer if they are worth more to Arriva. As to what will replace them at Canning Road? My guess is '07'-'58' plate Pulsars. Personally, I'd like to see some investment in the 300 route as, in my opinion, the route has been saddled with older, more down-at-heel vehicles for some time now and it would be nice to see the regular passengers treated to something a little more salubrious.
