The price rise is already in the local paper, i like how they point out that Network Warrington no longer have Facebook or Twitter and that Paying Passengers are only finding out at last moment.

Hardly surprising given the uproar last time they increased fares. Their attitude towards the increase's was shocking. Interestingly last time a number of people on Facebook suggested the council had insisted on the increases as it looked to recoup it's loan that it gave the company previously but who actually knows.

Out of interest how do NW's fares rack up against Halton and Rossendale?
Rossendale seem to serve a larger area yet generally thier fares seem quite resasonable.

It's perfect opportunity for Fairbrothers and GHA to really attack NW and give thier passengers a cheaper alternative.

Day ticket
Halton: £3.80
Rosso: £4.70
Warrington: £5.95

Weekly ticket
Halton: £15.00 (may increase to £16.00)
Rosso: £20.00
Warrington: £25.50

The Rosso prices quoted are the NETWORK-WIDE Rover ticket, as Mayneway suggests covering a much wider geographical area.

Rosso also have their GMsaver ticket valid only in Greater Manchester (essentially covering services in Bury and Rochdale) which is probably more comparable with the NW ticket range. These are £4 (1 day), £12 (7 days) and £40 for 28 days - http://www.rossobus.com/season-tickets.shtml
