Yes even though they date from the 80s, they are based on the same BREL 1972 EMU design as the 507/8s.

Due to an incident on the M56 , the railway line between Helsby and warrington Bank Quay is presently closed .

Some Manchester - North Wales services are being diverted via Stockport , Knutsford and Northwich.

Looking at the units that are in service now with train companys , its not quite mid life 15 years .

Any significant work being done to these units at this point .
