The Euro has appreciated quite well against Stirling over the past year, and continues to do so.

Once they get the courage to evict the basket cases such as Greece and Italy it will probably do even better.

If the Euro was supposed to be a Europe wide currency why advocate dumping Greece and Italy , you cant have a european wide currency if you start cherry picking the countries of europe that are allowed in it .

Greece lied, Ireland got its sums wrong , Cyprus relied on money laundrying Russian gangster cash and Italy hasn't a clue how big it's financial black hole is.

Time they were binned and Euro tightened the rules for entry.

Mind you will be fun to see Scotland try to meet raised entry bar when/if they press suicide button and vote for independence.

Italy has the potential to rip open the Euro if it goes down the plug hole .

Great Britain not going into Treble Dip Recession and actually coming out with a 0.3% growth actually strengthened the £ against numerous currencies . Im sure they is a lot of people glad that the £ exists .

The cash machine industry is really going to enjoy the polymer notes , a much better supply of notes will be available , we have all seen the days of rather battered and tattered £5 notes , it will take a lot to destroy one of these polymer ones.
