Mega update for you all.

There's a major rail contract starting tomorrow (Saturday) until Wednesday on the Northern Rail Southport to Wigan line involving 12 to 14 vehicles.
It's split into 3 sections:-
a. Southport to Parbold all stations
b. Southport to Parbold limited stop, and
c. Southport to WIgan.

a and b will be operated by stock/ service single deckers but c will be operated by Van Hool Alicron coaches hired in especially from Arriva Bus and Coach.

Loan buses I've noted so far are 2615, 2497, 2594 and not sure 2602 (could be wrong on that). Think there are others.

Van Hool Alicrons from the dealer stock are ex-Reays of Wigton YJ14CFA/E, exYorkhsire Rose SV63 xxx and SW63VEA (unsure of previous operator) plus another arriving tomorrow.

As part of an agreement between Bus and Coach and North West Wythenshawe depot , as some of you may know, is used as an overspill for Bus and Coaches stock.

Anyway thought I'd give you all the heads upif you want to pop over to Southport, Parbold or Wigan to record them.

If I can I will confirm the loan buses which will operate on Southport core local services.
