It's been mentioned cars contribute as well but I don't think anyone's mentioned Northern are still operating Sprinter trains which give much higher levels of emission than any modern bus. Presumably the government aren't keen on either a large new train order or a swap enabling Northern getting newer greener trains and an operator in another part of the country with less pollution getting the Sprinters. |
