Preston and Ribble Valley services
Preston services

From 1 May 2023 Preston Bus will introduce the following bus service revisions:
Service 8 Preston – Ribbleton – Moor Nook (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The timetable will be revised, with timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability.
Service 19 Preston – Deepdale – Royal Preston Hospital (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The timetable will be revised, with timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability. All short Service 19A journeys will no longer operate.
Service 23 Preston – Plungington – Royal Preston Hospital (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The timetable will be revised, with timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability.
Service 31 Preston – Savick – Lea (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The route and timetable will be revised, adjusting the route in Lea to no longer serve the Thornpark/Hawthorn Crescent Loop. However, the Monday to Saturday daytime service frequency will be increased to operate up to every 20 minutes with other timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability.
Service 35 Preston – Tanterton (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The timetable will be revised, with timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability.
Preston North and Ribble Valley tendered bus service revisions

From 1 May 2023 Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Preston Bus, will introduce the following bus service revisions:
Service 25/25A Clitheroe – Mellor – Blackburn (LCC Leaflet 2)

From 1 May 2023 Lancashire County Council will revise the timetable, adjusting Sunday Service 25A journeys times. There are no changes to the Monday to Saturday service.

Pilkingtonbus will continue to operate the Monday to Saturday service and Preston Bus will continue to operate the Sunday service, both on behalf of Lancashire County Council.
Service 43 Preston – Cottam – Fulwood Royal Preston Hospital (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The route and timetable will be revised, amending the route in Cottam to additionally serve parts of the new East-West Link Road between Hoyles Lane and Lightfoot Lane (when it opens), penetrating further into the new housing areas. Within the city centre, the service will be routed via the University Quarter and Corporation Street, maintaining reasonable access to the railway station.

With weight restrictions in place on the current route, this adjustment is required to enable the option of using full-sized buses allowing for increased capacity at peak times. Whilst Service 43 will no longer directly serve the railway station, Service 44 will be revised to serve the railway station, maintaining the direct connection, as well as retaining a service for the community around Maudland Bank and Peddar Street.

There will also be timing adjustments to improve overall reliability and all Sunday daytime journeys will be extended to operate the full route from Wychnor through to Royal Preston Hospital.

This direct service links the City Centre with Fulwood Royal Preston Hospital via University, Tom Benson Way, Cottam and Fulwood Lightfoot Lane.

The service will continue to operate up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. In conjunction with Service 44 the frequency between the City Centre and Cottam will remain up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. The hourly Sunday daytime service will also continue to operate throughout the whole route.
Service 44 Preston – Ashton – Ingol – Cottam (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The route and timetable will be revised, adjusting all journeys to additionally serve Cadley Mill Lane, replacing the amended Service 46 from this area, and via Fylde Road to directly serve the Railway Station, maintaining the link with the revisions to Service 43. With Service 44 route revised, the section of the current route through Blackpool Road, Inkerman Street, Eldon Street and Brook Street will continue to be served by Preston Bus' commercial Service 31.

The service will continue to operate the circular section around Cottam in an anti-clockwise direction to remain coordinated with Service 43. There will also be timing adjustments to improve overall service reliability.

The service will continue to operate up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. In conjunction with Service 43 the frequency between the City Centre and Cottam will remain up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. The hourly Sunday daytime service will also continue to operate between the City Centre and Ingol.
Service 45 Preston – Broughton – Whittingham – Longridge – Blackburn (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The timetable will be revised, adjusting times to better coordinate with other services between Preston and Broughton. The service will continue to operate in conjunction with Service 46, enhancing the service frequency between Preston and Longridge via Broughton and Whittingham.

The service will continue to operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime and two-hourly Sunday daytime service. In conjunction with Service 46 the frequency between Preston City Centre and Longridge via Broughton, Goosnargh and Whittingham will remain up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime and now every hour during Sunday daytime.
Service 46 Preston – Woodplumpton – Broughton – Whittingham – Longridge (Preston Bus Leaflet)

The route and timetable will be revised, adjusting the service between Preston and Woodplumpton to operate more direct via Ashton Lane Ends and the University Quarter, with Cadley Mill Lane served by the revised Service 44, and introducing a new Sunday daytime service.

This will offer a more direct service from the outer sections of the route together with offering a new link through to the University Quarter and Corporation Street areas of the city centre, improving access to the railway station.

In Longridge town centre, the service will continue to loop Calder Avenue and Higher Road serving additional areas within the town including Beacon Fell Caravan Park.

The service will operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime and a new two-hourly Sunday daytime service. In conjunction with Service 45 the frequency between Preston City Centre and Longridge via Broughton, Goosnargh and Whittingham will remain up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime and now every hour during Sunday daytime.
Service 48 Preston – Holme Slack – Longsands – RPH – Cottam – Lea (Preston Bus Leaflet)

New Service 48 will be introduced by amalgamating current Services 14, 49 & 88 into a single route. This new service will operate between Preston and Lea via Holme Slack (as per the Service 14 route), then via Ronaldsway and Cromwell Road to Longsands, restoring a bus service for this area, and onto Royal Preston Hospital via Fulwood Asda (as per the Service 49 route) before extending via Garstang Road, Lytham Road, Cadley, Tanterton, Cottam to Larches and Lea (covering the Service 88 route).

This will restore a more direct service across north Preston linking east and west to both the Hospital and key employment areas with enhanced frequencies for the busier sections of route.

The new Service 48 timetable will operate up to every 30 minutes between Preston and Royal Preston Hospital extending every hour through to Lea during Monday to Saturday daytime. A new Sunday daytime service operating on the eastern side of the route between Preston and Fulwood Asda will be introduced.
Service 14 Preston – Holme Slack
Service 49 Preston – Longsands – Fulwood Royal Preston Hospital
Service 88 Lea – Cottam – Fulwood Royal Preston Hospital

These services will be withdrawn and be amalgamated within the new Service 48.
