Lancaster services
Stagecoach North Lancashire Service Revisions

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach will introduce the following revisions to their bus service network:
Services 1 & 1A University – Lancaster – Morecambe – Heysham

The timetable will be revised to improve service reliability, mainly afternoon peak through Lancaster, along with an additional earlier journey from Overton to connect with Service 955 College Service.
Service 2X University – Lancaster – Heysham – Morecambe

The timetable will be adjusted to coordinate with the revisions to linked Service 100.
Service 4 Lancaster – University

The route and timetable will be revised, adjusting the Sunday route to no longer serve Heysham Village maintain service reliability. Heysham Village will continue to be served by the Service 2X.
Service 5 Overton – Heysham – Morecambe – Carnforth

There will be minor timetable revisions to improve service reliability.
Service 10/11 Lancaster City Services (Ridge/Marsh)

The timetables will be revised, in partnership with Lancashire County Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, the following additional later evening circular journeys will be introduced:

1955, 2055, 2155 & 2255 Lancaster – Marsh – Lancaster

2028, 2128 & 2228 Lancaster – Ridge – Lancaster
Service 40/41 Morecambe – Lancaster – Garstang – Preston

The timetable around peak times will be revised to improve service reliability, with Preston College Service 40A journey renumbered to Service 40C.
Service 42 Lancaster – Garstang – Poulton – Blackpool

The timetable will be revised to improve reliability and, in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, additional am journeys will be introduced to increase the number of journeys available.
Service 55 Lancaster – Carnforth

The timetable will be revised to improve service reliability.
Service 100 University – Lancaster – Bare – Morecambe – Heysham

The timetable will be revised to improve service reliability and, in partnership with Lancashire County Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, the frequency of Sunday journeys will be increased from hourly to half-hourly throughout the whole route.
Service 81 Lancaster – Halton – Caton – Brookhouse – Hornby

From 2 September 2024, Lancashire County Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will introduce the following additional later evening journeys between Lancaster and Hornby:

1952, 2052, 2152 & 2252 from Lancaster to Hornby

2022, 2122 & 2222 from Hornby to Lancaster

These journeys will be operated by Stagecoach Lancaster on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

There are no changes to the daily daytime journeys operated by Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire Ltd.
Ribble Valley services
Service 11 – Clitheroe – Slaidburn – Settle / Settle – Horton

From 2 September 2024, North Yorkshire Council's in-house transport provider will take over operation of this service. There will be no changes to the route or timetable.

The service will continue to operate in partnership with Lancashire County Council.
Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre services
Service 1 Fleetwood – Cleveleys – Blackpool

From 1 September 2024, Blackpool Transport will revise the timetable to operate every 30 minutes daily daytime.
Service 1A Cleveleys – Blackpool – St.Annes Square

From 1 September 2024, Blackpool Transport will withdraw this seasonal summer service for the winter. Regular alternative services are available for travel.
Service 3/3A Cleveleys Park – Cleveleys – Bispham – Blackpool – Mereside

From 1 September 2024, Blackpool Transport will revise the timetable, with minor adjustments to evening journey times to provide better service intervals
Service 12 Blackpool – Victoria Hospital - Bispham – Carleton – Poulton

From 1 September 2024, Blackpool Transport will introduce this new service, in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan.

This new Monday to Saturday daytime service will operate every hour linking Blackpool and Poulton via Whitegate Drive, Victoria Hospital, Bispham and Carleton.

On schooldays, certain journeys will operate as Service 12A and extend through to Baines School.
Service 18 Blackpool – Airport – Enterprise Zone – Mereside – Victoria Hospital

From 1 September 2024, Blackpool Transport will revise the route and timetable, adjusting the service, in partnership with Blackpool Council, to serve the Enterprise and extend through to Victoria Hospital. The revised service will operate every hour daily daytime.
Preston services
Service 1 Preston – Ribbleton – Grimsargh – Longridge

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach South Lancashire will revise the timetable, adjusting AM/PM peak journeys to improve service reliability. School Service S1 will be renumbered 1S and the PM return journey from Longridge will be revised to depart at 1525.
Service 59 Preston – Mellor Brook – Blackburn – Royal Blackburn Hospital – Accrington
Service 61 Preston – Kirkham – Blackpool
Service 68 Preston – Freckleton – Warton – Lytham – St.Annes – Blackpool
Service 111 Preston – Lostock Hall – Leyland – Moss Side
Service 125 Preston – Bamber Bridge – Chorley – Horwich – Bolton

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach South Lancashire will revise the timetables, adjusting the afternoon Preston College journeys to depart at 1645, along with other minor timetable adjustments to improve overall service reliability.
Service X2 Preston – Tarleton – Southport – Formby – Liverpool

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach South Lancashire, in partnership with Lancashire County Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will revise the timetable enhancing overall service provision. Restoring the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency back up to every 30 minutes between Preston and Southport.
Preston Bus Network Revisions

Following their public consultation held in June and July, Preston Bus will revise their local bus service network from Monday 2 September 2024. These revisions include:

New links between west Preston and Royal Preston Hospital and Preston College.
More frequent buses for Ingol, Tanterton, Preston Docks and Farringdon Park reinstating the 10-minute service to these areas of the City.
Extra journeys to Preston College at the end of the day to provide more capacity.
Extended service 6 to James Hall Distribution Centre, reinstating all-day buses on Bluebell Way.
New timetables on many services to improve punctuality.

A summary of all services that will be changing are as follows:
Service 6 Preston - Deepdale – Brookfield – Red Scar James Hall Distribution Centre

The route and timetable will be revised to extend all journeys to James Hall Distribution Centre. The route will be the same as current between Preston and Red Scar (via Deepdale Road and Brookfield) continuing to James Hall via Bluebell Way.

This will provide a new all-day bus service, seven days per week to the expanding industrial and employment areas along Bluebell Way.

There will be minor timetable changes to facilitate this extension, but buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes during Monday-Saturday daytime, every 30 minutes during Sunday daytime and less frequently in the evening. The times of evening journeys will also change slightly.

During the weekday afternoon peak period (1445-1730) buses will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes, in order to facilitate longer journey times and ensure services operate punctually due to highway congestion.
Service 8 – Preston – Ribbleton – Moor Nook

The timetable will be revised to improve overall service reliability. There will be a minor revision to the first Saturday journey of the day to commence from Moor Nook Shops instead of Preston Bus Station.
Service 16 – Preston – New Hall Lane – Farringdon Park

This new service will be introduced to partially replace the withdrawal of Service 100 on this section of route. The new service will operate between Preston Bus Station and Farringdon Park via New Hall Lane every 10-20 minutes during the daytime, and less frequently during the evening.

As a result of feedback received during their consultation, there will be additional journeys extended to the Railway Station on weekdays only. At other times, customers wishing to travel beyond the Bus Station to Fishergate and the Railway Station can connect onto other services at the Bus Station.

Journeys on Service 16 extending to Preston Railway Station operate at the following times during the week:

From Farringdon Park: 0455, 0525, 0555, 0648 & 0705.

From Preston Railway Station (Stop D opposite) to Farringdon Park: 1714, 1759, 1844 & 1914.
Connector Service 19/20 Larches (19) or Lea (20) – Docks – Portway P&R – Rail & Bus Stations – Deepdale – Royal Preston Hospital

Service 19 will be extended to beyond Preston Bus Station to Larches via Fishergate, Railway Station, Portway P&R and Mariners Way to partially replace withdrawn service 100.

New Service 20 will mirror Service 19 between Royal Preston Hospital and Ashton, Pedders Lane, before continuing to Lea (Aldfield Avenue).

Each service will operate every 20 minutes during Monday-Friday daytime, to provide a co-ordinated high-frequency service between Ashton and Royal Preston Hospital via the Railway Station and Portway Park and Ride.

This enhanced level of service provision has the following benefits:

More buses to Portway P&R and the docks - from every 15 to every 10 minutes.
New links between Portway P&R and the Railway Station to Deepdale Road, Royal Preston Hospital and Preston College.
New service linking Lea with the Railway Station and the docks.

As a result of these changes, the number of buses operating via Larches estate will reduce from 4 buses per hour to 3, however the overall number of buses to the general Lea/Larches area along Blackpool Road will increase.

Services will operate every 30 minutes on Saturdays (15 minutes combined between Pedders Lane and Royal Preston Hospital). Only service 19 will operate on Evenings and Sundays between Larches and Royal Preston Hospital.

On College Days only, additional journeys will operate from Preston College at 1545 (to Preston Bus Station only) and 1645 (to Larches).

All journeys on service 19/20 will operate via Portway Park and Ride.
Service 23 – Preston Bus Station – Plungington – Royal Preston Hospital – Fulwood Asda

The timetable will be revised with minor changes to improve reliability. The general frequency of the service remains unchanged.

On Saturdays, due to low usage, the following journeys will no longer operate:

0530 Preston Bus Station – 0553 Fulwood Asda

0554 Fulwood Asda – 0615 Preston Bus Station.

Alternative journeys are available 30 minutes earlier or 30 minutes later.
Service 31 Preston – Savick – Lea

The timetable will be revised, adjusting the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency to operate every 30 minutes. On Saturdays, a new earlier journey from Lea will operate at 0636.

On Sundays, the service will now be operated in partnership with Lancashire County Council, with revised timings to co-ordinate better with other bus services to the Lea area.
Service 35 Preston – Ashton – Ingol – Tanterton

The timetable will be revised to operate more buses on the route to Tanterton, up to every 10 minutes during weekday daytimes. On Saturday late afternoons, to reflect current patterns of demand, buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes.
Service 43 Preston – Cottam – Fulwood – Royal Preston Hospital
Service 44 Preston – Ingol – Cottam

In partnership with Lancashire County Council, there will be minor changes to the timetables improve overall service reliability. The temporary diversion routes omitting the major closure of Hoyles Lane will continue until at least October 2024.
Service 45 Preston – RPH – Broughton – Whittingham – Longridge – Ribchester – Blackburn
Service 46 Preston – Woodplumpton – Broughton – Whittingham – Longridge

In partnership with Lancashire County Council, there will be minor changes to the timetables improve overall service reliability.
Service 48 Preston - Holme Slack – Longsands – RPH – Ingol – Tanterton – Cottam – Lea

In partnership with Lancashire County Council, there will be minor changes to the timetables improve overall service reliability.
Service 100 Larches – Portway P&R – Rail and Bus Stations – Farringdon Park

The service will be withdrawn, however all affected bus stops on the route will have the following replacement services:

Customers travelling between Preston and Farringdon Park should use Service 16, which will operate more frequently along New Hall Lane.

Customers travelling to Portway P&R, the Docks area, Pedders Lane, Ashton and Larches, should use new Services 19/20.
West Lancashire services
Service 300 Liverpool – Maghull – Haskayne – Halsall – Southport

From 1 September 2024, Arriva will revise the timetable, adjusting times to improve overall service reliability.
Service 310 Liverpool – Maghull – Ormskirk – Skelmersdale

From 1 September 2024, Arriva will revise the timetable, adjusting times to improve overall service reliability. In partnership with Merseytravel and Lancashire County Council, utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, provide support to maintain a half hourly service through the route in Lancashire, better coordinating times in conjunction with Services 375/385 between Ormskirk and Skelmersdale to provide a more even timetable over this section.
Service 375/385 Southport – Ormskirk – Skelmersdale – Wigan

From 1 September 2024, Arriva will revise the timetable, adjusting times to improve overall service reliability and coordinating times in conjunction with Service 310 between Ormskirk and Skelmersdale to provide a more even timetable over this section.
Service 319 Skelmersdale – Headbolt Lane Station – Kirkby (Trainlink)

From 1 September 2024, Lancashire County Council will revise the service stopping places to improve overall service reliability. Between the M58 Motorway and Kirkby Bus Station the service will operate on a limited stop basis, only serving Headbolt Lane Station.
Chorley services
Service 127 Chorley Hospital – Astley Village – Chorley – Adlington – Blackrod

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach South Lancashire, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, will revise the timetable, adjusting the Monday to Friday AM peak journeys by up to 15 minutes. This change to provide improved links for students attending Chorley schools.
Service 337/347 Chorley – Eccleston – Croston – Ormskirk/Southport

From 1 September 2024, Stagecoach South Lancashire, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, will revise the timetable, with minor changes to the timetables improve overall service reliability.
Blackburn and Hyndburn services
The Blackburn Bus Company Revisions

From 1 September 2024, The Blackburn Bus Company will introduce the following revisions to their bus service network:
Service 1 Blackburn – Darwen – Bolton

The timetable will be revised to improve overall service reliability.
Service 2 Blackburn – Feniscowles – Abbey Village – Brinscall – Chorley
Service 2A Blackburn – Feniscowles – Abbey Village – Brinscall – Chorley Hospital – Chorley

The timetables will be revised, introducing new Service 2A on Mondays to Saturdays, to operate via Chorley & South Ribble Hospital (A6 entrance) rather than Eaves Lane. New Service 2A will operate in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan.

Services 2 & 2A combined will increase the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency up to every 30 minutes between Chorley and Blackburn.

There will be no changes to the Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday service operated by Stagecoach on behalf of Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Chorley Council.
Service 4 Blackburn – Darwen – Bolton

The timetable will be revised to improve overall service reliability.
Hotline 152 Burnley – Padiham – Blackburn – Hoghton – Preston

The timetable will be revised to improve overall service reliability, with additional Monday to Friday peak times journeys to offer increased capacity for customers.
Red Express X41 Accrington – Haslingden – Ramsbottom – Manchester

The route and timetable will be revised in response to increased congestion in Manchester City Centre, and to offer customers a more reliable and predictable journey time, the following changes are being made:

Most journeys will now start & finish at Shudehill Interchange, operating via Hunts Bank and Withy Grove.
Following customer feedback, some peak time journeys will still serve Chorlton Street operating via Piccadilly, in the same way as the current faster trips.
Additional new stops in Manchester, in both directions at The Printworks and Trinity Way on Bury New Road.

Burnley and Pendle services
The Burnley Bus Company Revisions

From 1 September 2024, The Burnley Bus Company will introduce the following revisions to their bus service network:
Services 2/2A Burnley – Nelson – Higherford - Nelson

The timetable will be revised with minor changes to improve reliability.
Mainline Services M1/M2/M3/M4/M5/M6 Keighley/Skipton/Barnoldswick/Earby – Colne – Nelson – Burnley – Padiham – Hapton/Accrington/Whalley/Clitheroe

The timetables will be revised to improve overall service reliability, with more double deck buses utilised on busy Monday to Friday peak time journeys to offer increased capacity for customers.
Witch Way X43 Nelson – Burnley – Rawtenstall – Manchester

The route and timetable will be revised in response to increased congestion in Manchester City Centre, and to offer customers a more reliable and predictable journey time, the following changes are being made:

Most journeys will now start & finish at Shudehill Interchange, operating via Hunts Bank and Withy Grove.
Following customer feedback, some peak time journeys will still serve Chorlton Street operating via Piccadilly, in the same way as the current faster trips. The morning journeys via Prestwich will serve Turner Street as an alternative to Shudehill Interchange on their way to Chorlton Street.
Additional new stops in Manchester, in both directions at The Printworks and Trinity Way on Bury New Road.
All journeys between Nelson Interchange, Queensgate bus depot and Burnley Bus Station will now serve all bus stops
Additional journeys from Rawtenstall towards Burnley on Monday to Friday morning to offer increased capacity at college times.
Friday & Saturday night buses will now depart Manchester at 0000, 0110 and 0220 from Manchester.

Services 591/592 Burnley – Cliviger – Todmorden – Hebden Bridge – Halifax

From 1 September 2024, First will revise the route and timetable, adjusting times to improve service reliability. The route of Service 592 will be adjusted to operate a more direct route between Burnley and Cliviger via Walk Mill and Todmorden Road, with Service 591 remaining to operate the current route via Mereclough and Brunshaw Road.

Each service will run approximately hourly Monday to Saturday daytime, with buses every two hours evening and Sunday, and combined for an approximate 30-minute Monday to Saturday daytime service (and an hourly evening and Sunday service) from Burnley to Cliviger, via alternate routes, then through to all points in West Yorkshire.
Rossendale services
Service 464 Accrington – Haslingden – Rawtenstall – Bacup – Rochdale
Service 481 Blackburn – Royal Blackburn Hospital – Haslingden – Rawtenstall – Bury
Service 483 Burnley – Water – Waterfoot – Rawtenstall – Bury

From 1 September 2024, Rosso will revise the timetables of these services, with minor changes to departure times and general running times, mainly at peak times and evenings to improve service reliability.
