These were flagship routes that always got the newest vehicles and often experimental vehicles. ENL 861 and 863 were regulars and had some sort of uprated turbos - they sounded fantastic. A year or two later DVG 276 and 284 were the regulars. One of these two (can't remember which) had fully auto transmision - I think a first for Crosville. Another interesting regular on the 418 was CRG 103 which in the late 70s operated a 418 journey that left Heswall at about 8am, resplendent in National Express white livery but fully fitted for omo. For as short time early 80s Crosville also got PTE Fleetlines on hire from Laird Street, & were painted into Crosville livery, & a few were allocated to the 418/419.
