Yh 142's do turn up in the event of unavailable 156 but I can remember a few years ago it used to a 3 car class 144 on the whitby branch

Three car 144s are now used on Leeds-Manchester Victoria via Brighouse and Lees-Sheffield services.

Yh they are but I'm sure I've seen a class 144 o the whitby branch a few years back now, I know it's mainly class 156's now
