I rode this route to St Helens Junction to resist the temptation to catch a train from Manchester to St Helens Junction then a bus to St Helens later. I noticed more buses than I am used to these days in old livery. A sign of the times was seeing no buses with MTL moquette. I was pleased to ride a Marshall (7634) on route 34 but sadly was told to change to another bus at Earlestown. Admittedly the replacement bus, Renown 2707, had elegant seating even in the old moquette.

The last vehicle as far I know the last vehicle to have MTL moquette was the dreadful 7640 which has thankfully now departed St Helens for Bolton.
