3 of the tridents Teesside are getting (10732/3/4) have LED displays - and theirs no point putting them on the majority of buses (bar the 54 plate alx300) since they'll be leaving soon and the replacements are going to have LED displays.

LEDs aren't always better than flipdots. As for fitting the LEDs to the remaining Tridents (and 22011-20/61-6), the cost wouldn't be justified - the South Shields examples received their LEDs from the withdrawn B10BLEs which were sold (or in 21156's case, still being used by Stagecoach) with the flipdots taken out of the MANs.

In other news, the latest repaint at Stockton depot appears to be 22015.
